i gave this three stars due to no hardware being included and when i asked customer service, the person replied in a snarky manner--maybe she was having a bad day but insulting a customer isn't something i expected. anyway, the box is sturdy and well constructed and that should suffice for most folks looking for an owl box.

I recently purchased this nesting box for our Western Screech Owl it is highly constructed, they thought of everything from ventilation holes, proper drainage holes, a grooved sliding door for easy access and cleaning. They thought of everything even a carefully placed grid for the birds to climb out! Wood chips included! This box was produced by highly skilled craftsmen who care about their work! We purchased a screech owl box from another company and had to return it because it was poorly constructed! I contacted the company to ask them some questions and their customer service was so professional, friendly and helpful! A high quality bird house from a first rate company!

I am looking forward to having screech owls in the nest. I will update my review if I have birds this year. Probably, I will change the rating to 5 stars then. I gave the box 4 stars because the measurements on the floor of the house are a little smaller than I understood that they should be (8" x 8").

Nice box. Well constructed. I have it 14 feet in the air and wrapped the base of the tree in sheet metal to keep the predators out. I painted the metal to simulate the look of a tree . Now I am waiting for a nesting pair or at least a homeless Screech Owl looking for a free home..... Wood ducks welcome!
