FCASP2.5 Premier Series Synthetic Reed for Alto Saxophone, 2.5 Strength

Playing through an alto the Fibracell changes some of the tone that I am used to hearing, but the advantages outweigh the slight tone difference. It slightly moves the midrange up, and slightly makes it a bit brighter. Not a huge change, but it is a different tone than cane. Fibracell plays right away, and keeps on playing, takes the worry out of a performance, gives me more confidence. Update: After using these for a while I tend to like the way they cut through and add some volume as well. I am purchasing more of the same. I still have a ton of cane reeds and they work real good for recording, and I won't quit on them as the really best tone comes from a good cane reed. Best of both.

I got the 2.0 and I have been using it exclusively for 3 months. It is the best reed I have. I am super new to saxophone, and I can hit the altissimo A and I am getting the low C# with this reed, which I consider great. It is synthetic, so it does not need to be wet, and it is pretty durable. Juts ordered the same reed in 1.5 strength!

My sax instructor recommended I try fibracell because I usually play tenor and only hop on alto occasionally. So I don’t have the best luck having a good cane read ready to go. When I got this reed, it immediately played better for me than the cane reed that was working best for me recently. I don’t notice anything weird about it. It’s feels like a cane reed and doesn’t taste or smell weird or anything. Totally happy, should probably buy a couple more right now. You don’t have to worry about humidity or soaking or breaking it in. I just wipe it dry when I’m done practicing.

The hardness of Fibracell is tend to soft which make it become perfect match with open tip mouthpiece. Easy control, low resistance, natural sound. The only problem is it's product life is shorter than the other synthetic reed.

I play alto sax and love this reed. The material that covers the reed prevents it from getting over moist. It provides high sound quality. It’s durable. Plays well. I highly recommended it.

Closest to a cane reed I’ve ever trued. The best part for me is I don’t have to wet the reed. As a singer who sometimes plays sax, this is huge!

I have been playing just over a year. This has become my goto reed. Very easy to play. I also have a 2.5 for days when i am blowing harder and over power this one. It does not sound as good as my Legere Signature 2.0 but is much easier to control. I am looking forward to trying the new Legere American reed

Great reed, it's not in the league if the Leeger Reed. But has a nice tone in between a synthetic and a Cane reed. It's not to hot above D3. But maybe a little rubbing on some paper. Still not the nightmare of cane.
