My hunch is these were past their prime having been harvested, then stored too long before being sold. Not worth the $240.00 we spent for a double order Would advise you find another grower/distributor to buy these from

We found them somewhat aromatic when the box was opened but lacking any taste when used in a sauce and sliced fresh. Very disappointing .
