Female RCA to Female XLR Adapters (FRCA-FXLR) - 2 Pieces (1 Pair)

I'm using these to go out from SMSL SP400's balanced out -> Genelec G2 RCA in. Works great.

Prior to finding this pair of Cardas XLR to RCA adapters, most of what I saw out there were cables that had XLR connectors on one end, and RCA connectors on the other end. And they were priced ridiculously low - like from $10 to $15 - which had me questioning their accuracy and reliability. Then I read a few articles that these types of adapter cables really didn't do a good job at all, so I kept on looking. Last year or so, I came upon this Cardas adapter pair on Amazon, saw the price and wondered if they would really work, so I bought a pair. To make a long story short, they did a wonderful job of converting and passing through an unbalanced signal from an original balanced one. I'm using a 5 way XLR switcher box to which I have plugged in 3 amplifiers that have balanced connections, and the other two amps just have RCA connections. This Cardas pair did the trick as I connected them to the XLR switcher, and then ran RCA cables from the Cardas pair to the unbalanced amps. I could not discern any differences from the signal coming from a balanced amp and the new unbalanced signal coming from an unbalanced amplifier. This says it best. Nothing is lost in translation and I consider myself a critical listener - being an audiophile for over 55 years. So although $150 may sound kind of expensive at first, remember, you get what you pay for. Thus my giving this Cardas pair the full 5 star rating.
