KEEN Utility Men's Pittsburgh Waterproof Steel Toe Boots
Another quality boot offered by Keen. The KEEN Utility Men's Pittsburgh Waterproof Steel Toe Boots are made well, feel comfortable, as comfortable as a steel toe boot can, and offer my husband a quality boot that generally will last him 6 to 8 months of daily wear for an electrical profession. These boots offer the better traction, hold up well in wet situations, and the tongue of the boot stays put and is connected to help deter water inside the boots. The stitching is done well and the extra lacing of these boots make for a better overall fit. My husband wears an 8.5 and the boot is a perfect fit. While it would be nice if Keen continued to offer the same boots, at least when a new edition is put out into the market they are also made well and it is easy to find another quality made boot.

Safety and comfort
I would recommend these comfy boots to everyone! Strong, dependable, well built, durable, safe and secure and long lasting. The insoles could be better but switch them out with after market ones and you’re golden!

Keen Utility Pittsburgh ST Boots
I bought these Keen Pittsburgh boots for their steel toe ASTM F2413-11 M I/75 C/75 EH rating with oil and slip resistance, as it is a requirement for my job. I also wanted something waterproof, and more on the warm side, as I am out on the streets of the South Bronx every day. I work in every weather condition and temps above 100 F down to sub zero. I walk on every kind of surface under the sun, outside and in. My job also takes me through every kind of businesse, basement, greasy kitchen, factory, warehouse, shop, you name it. The boots are rugged and hefty, yet they feel light when walking in them. There are a lot of reviews out there that say their boots are the most comfortable they have ever worn, but seriously, these boots are really, really comfortable. I'm used to going through a period of time with other brands where I accept that my feet and ankles are going to go through the pain of breaking in a new pair of boots. Not with these! I don't feel like I'm wearing steel toe work boots at all. I feel like I'm cheating the system somehow! The comfort of the boots seems to have a lot to do with the material used for the top center (under the laces) and tongue. It is a reinforced synthetic fabric with very good padding, rather than a hard stiff leather tongue. I also love how the tongue is not a separate piece from the body of the boot. It keeps the boot sealed from anything getting in. The tops of the boots above the ankles have good thick padding that make the boots feel like they're giving you a big firm warm hug. There is also a thinner padding in the lining throughout the rest of the boot that works for both comfort and insulation. All that goodness on the inside, and bad ass ruggedness on the outside. Quality, tough, materials. Double stitching all over the boot. I didn't find a single frayed or hanging thread. The leather is tough, but almost has a slight suede to it. If you run your finger across it, you can feel the leather is actually infused with a waterproof substance. It almost feels kind of like a light wax. The metal lace rings and hooks are something that will hold up after time. The top hooks are locking and hold the laces at the tension you pull them. I was a little concerned about having the one fabric lace strap between the lower lace rings and upper hooks, but to my surprise there is a hard plastic sleeve inside the end of the strap where the lace goes through (see picture). This will keep the laces from wearing through the strap. Also, all the fabric straps on the boot have a reflective material in them, which helps with high visibility at night, or bad weather. The tread is good and grippy, the lugs are nice and beefy but not cumbersome. The front of the sole angles up a little at the toes which works really well with your natural walking motions to actually help propel you a bit. I actually end up using less effort to walk! Last but not least, these boots just look friggin good. I love the style and the color. And if you don't like one color, Keen makes these in five different colors. All in all, these boots have exceeded all of my expectations. I couldn't be happier.

so it was easy to go take a look at all the different ...
I bought these boots because nearly everyone at my workplace wears Keen boots. They were all fairly positive about the comfort and durability at the Keen's price point. I don't live that far from Portland and the Keen Garage, so it was easy to go take a look at all the different models. In the past, I've primarily worn Danners. However, I can't justify the price on what a new pair of comparable Danner boots cost, nor do I care for the quality of the previous two pairs of Danners that I've purchased. That being said, here's my experience with this specific Keen boot. The boots took 3 weeks to start to really break in. This is longer than any other boot that I have ever purchased, after 20+ years of buying work boots. I do not care for the material at the opening of the boot. In my opinion, the material at the top of the boot is too high, it digs into the back of my leg. Even after the 3 weeks that the foot of the boot took to break in, the upper heel still is fairly stiff and digs in a bit. Not at all comfortable. However, I must admit that I usually buy an 8" boot and am not used to more of a 6" boot height. So maybe it's just me. I know some of the other styles have a lower, more scalloped, back material to them. The lacing system on the boots is one of the best I've ever had. Easiest to lace up in the morning and stay tight all day long. This will be a mandatory item on any future boot purchase as I now wonder why I ever bought boots that don't lace this easy and stay this tight all day long. And the tongue of the boot stays where it should. I've had some boots in the past that the tongue always slides to one side no matter what you do. The steel toe is barely noticeable. I've been walking around in the cold and over a foot of snow the last week. It does get slightly colder than a non-steel toe boot. But my feet run hot most of the time anyway, so barely noticeable to me. Some of my coworkers mentioned that they can feel the cold from the steel toe. One thing I would change is I wish I had gone with a more flat sole. It's what I'm used to with the Danners that I have purchased in the past. But, I'm all and all pretty satisfied with the boot. I paid quite a bit lower than what the local Keen store would sell them to me. I tried on a regular width 14 at the Keen store and thought they would be alright, but there was just enough rub with the front of the boot that I decided to buy the 2E from Amazon. The Keen store did not have a 15 to try on, so I went with what I thought would work best. Usually I wear a 15 in running shoes, but it all depends on brand and style. My feet aren't killing me at the end of the day with these. Overall a good buy if you can get them at or under the $150 price point. I would ultimately give these boots 3.5 stars. The main reason they went to a 4 star was because of Amazon's awesome customer service. I noticed this morning that the heel in the right boot is sucking air and water giving that squish sound when I walk. If you've ever had a pair of shoes/boots do this, you know what I'm talking about and how annoying it is. I logged into my Amazon account and submitted a replacement request. They processed it and have a replacement pair on the way, free of charge. Submitted today, Wednesday, and they will be here on Friday. Amazon to the rescue. I may or may not buy another pair of Keen's for work boots. I might try a pair of Timberland or Red Wing next time.

So far so good - Update after one year
Update: After a year of daily wear, I'm pleased to report that these work boots have held up exceptionally well. They continue to provide the same comfort and support that I initially praised. I've been using them at the power plant, where I walk on gravel, asphalt, and frequently climb stairs and ladders, and they've consistently offered a great sense of security. Regarding the minor issue with the laces coming undone easily, it seems that with more wear and usage, they have improved and now stay tight for longer periods. Additionally, the sole has proven to be durable, even through the cold months. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend these work boots. They have exceeded my expectations and have proven to be a reliable choice for daily use in demanding environments. Original review: I like how comfortable the work boots are. They have great support and are easy to fit into. I have been using it for about 2 weeks at the power plant and they have been holding up pretty well. I walk around on gravel, asphalt and go up stairs as well as ladders and they offer great support and good sense of security. I will update after 1 year which is the minimum I expect I this price point. One minor issue are the laces that tend to come undone easily. Maybe with more wear they will hold tight longer. Also, because of how little use I have given them, I’m not sure how the sole is gonna hold up, especially with the cold months coming soon. As I mentioned before, I will update once those concerns are addressed.

Great all-weather work boot.
I don't normally write reviews, but I had to for this boot. This boot has been fantastic. I was looking for a boot that could have multiple uses when I purchased. It has been exactly that. I use them for hiking/camping, working, and hunting. They are comfortable, aside from being somewhat warm in the summer (I live in Texas), but I can easily mitigate that with thin athletic socks. They did take a bit to break in, but after that...smooth sailing. One of the coolest things I have found about them is that if I leave the laces out of the top two hooks and tie them in a slip knot, I can slip the boots on and off without having to tie them. This is mostly just for the evening time when I don't expect to be "using" them, but I need to make a quick trip out to the trash can when it's too muddy/wet or something. I have to say, though, of all that, the absolute best thing has to be the waterproofing. I have really only had it tested twice, but both times it held up very, very well. The first time was when about ten gallons of water fell directly on my feet and the socks never got wet. The second time was in a large open field that had just been rained on thoroughly. It looked like a rice patty; very wet and extremely muddy. Most folks were wearing rubber boots and kept saying, "I think you brought the wrong boots." I walked about 400 yards through it, around ankle deep or more in most places. After about 300 yards I could start to tell they were becoming saturated. I got to the other side and although my feet were getting a little chilly from the boots being saturated, my socks were dry. This is a great all around work boot that can be used in very wet areas for limited amounts of time. Whether hunting in rainy weather, or just working in the yard it should do ya right!

Most comfortable boot ever.
Comfort and support are outstanding. I wear a 13 wide and these boots are ergonomic, eliminating a long break in. Literally, they are the most comfortable work boots I have ever worn. Among KEEN work boots, they are also the most comfortable. The laces are engineered to stay tied. They are truly waterproof. No rubbing or chafing issues. The “wide” option is very wide. A lot of padding. The only reason I did not give 5 stars, is that I am on my second pair in 3 years. After 2.5 years of use on the daily, on new construction jobsites, my first pair gave up. The soles began to separate from the upper. But I bought another pair. That should be a clear indication of how much I love them.

Excelentes botas Keen Pitsburg
