These Sperry boat shoes are a wonderful replacement/alternative to the badly/cheaply redesigned-by-private-equity Rockport boat shoes. They are comfortable and unlike the new Rockport design, the heel area drawstring actually works to tighten shoe fit. I’m very pleased with these Sperry shoes.

I have over a dozen pairs of these Sperry shoes. Some are getting a little beat up after a decade, so I am replenishing the collection! Since Amazon bought Zappos, prices are much higher. I wait for price drops. The quality, appearance, materials used, and fit have not changed. Amazon is artificially inflating the price. Once you buy a pair for say $65, and then look at more, they are suddenly $110. So if you are thinking of getting more than one pair do it in one session. Also, I'd wait to look at them on the day of purchase. I have noticed that if I look at something and go back later to buy, the price almost always isat least 10% higher.

This is the Top Sider “gold standard” for me. I’ve always had one pair of these same Top Siders, in natural brown color, they are classic and functional. I’ve never had blue ones though. The blue color feels as “marine” as blue can be, like the color of the deep blue sea.

Pics: 1- Shoes in natural light, you can't see the red at all. 2- Damage to my right foot from wearing the shoe for a few hours in 2023. 3- The shoes 2 years later in 2025, you can see the red in this light. Pros: Look good, comfortable enough. Can dress up or down. Very durable as I've had them two years and they are doing great (though, they also are very slow to break in....) Cons: These seem too tight near the toes - or at least on mine the right one is always pressing in against the base of my big toe. Picture 2 shows that it actually cut in to my foot to the point of blood after wearing a few hours. 2 years later it's broken in enough that it only leaves my foot a little red there after hours. The shoes fit fine and are easy to take on and off so it's not like I bought them too small. Plus my left foot is perfectly fine (I'm assuming my feet are slightly different sizes, not the shoes) Things to consider: I really liked the shoes having a slightly red color to them, unfortunately that color is almost completely missing from the actual product. You can see it in perfect lighting and that's about it. In my picture with more natural light you can't see the color at all, but the yellowish light lets you see it. Ultimately I like these shoes and would buy them again if they ever wore out... I'd just order a larger size.

Very nice. A little lighter in color than expected. But husband really likes them. Good value! Would buy again.

Outstanding in all manner.

This is the third pair we've bought for my husband as they're worn out over time. He loves the style and flexibility of outfit pairing with these. First pair was size 14, they were big and stretched too much. Second pair was 13, closer to a better fit but ended up stretching too much again. This time I bought him a size 12 W. They are snug indeed but he plans to follow the break-in instructions to mould them to his feet. Hopefully these are the right size so they're not some flippy floppy over time

In 2024, the Sperry show company was sold to a "brand management company". The quality of the shoes has dropped dramatically. I've worn Sperry Topsiders for years. But since the sale of the company the quality has dropped significantly. Two recent purchases failed in the same way. The sole cracks at the toe, right at the line of stitching. This happens within a few months of purchase. CAUTION - Sperry website shows a one year warranty, but ONLY if purchased directly from Sperry. There is NO warranty if purchased anywhere else. So, no warranty when purchased from Amazon. If you are going to buy Sperry's do not purchase via Amazon
