Get it. Easy to use and child proof.

I used this product, the Improved Childproof Door Lever Lock to prevent my wife who has Alzheimer's disease from walking out the front door and into/across the relatively busy street we live on and then wondering down the street and which began happening daily. I am home with her every day, but her constant walking out the front door went from never to an easy six to eight times a day, maybe more and I simply could not let it go on. This Childproof Door Lever Lock works, my wife cannot figure it out. She does not like it, but it beats the alternative of her possibly getting hit by a car and also saves the possible traumatic experience of the car driver that hit her. If you are having trouble with your Alzheimer's spouse from leaving your home, I can tell you it works and has prevented my wife from leaving and wondering off for over a month now and though I get a few tantrums from her because it is installed on our door it is well worth it to me. Eliminates lots of worry and frustration. I found it very easy to install, the adhesion works great, my wife has not been able to tear it off and not for a lack of effort and for me it is easy enough to open. A little inconvenient, but she cannot figure it out which is why I bought it, and as they say, you do what you need to do.

Work very well

I bought and installed 8 of these in my home to wrangle toddler into areas that were safe for her, and to keep her out of other areas I don’t want her in. I have used them for 2 years and am now removing them from some of the doors. Pros first- They work. The adhesion is great. I never had them fall off. My older children could easily use them while the toddler could not. Pro-tip- I stall them upside down. That way you rarely need to activate the moving part of the lock because small children are typically not tall enough to swing the door handle up to open the door. They can only pull down which hits the plastic lock before the door unlatches. Cons- removal is awful. They say to use a blow dryer to heat the adhesive, and use dental floss to separate the child lock from the door. Yeah no. That method left my finger cut from the floss digging in and ripped paint and wood material off the door. I tried many tools for safe and damage free removal. The best one was a blow dryer to soften the adhesive along with a 15” metal pry-bar. Go slow, it will come off with no damage to the door.

I actually got this for my cat, who is able to open doors and allows the dogs to roam around the whole house. It’s very easy to setup and once it sticks, it does not come off. I’ve had these installed for 3 years and they are all still installed and have not fallen off. The sticky part is extremely strong and I don’t think it’s going anywhere. It’s very easy to “arm” even with one hand. Squeeze the buttons on the side and lift the handle up. I’ve had kids over who also could not get through the door and even adults. So if it’s adult proof it’s kid and animal proof. This is the only door lock you need as it will last forever. Great for the price.
