“When I was in pharmacy school, I discovered that food has a profound impact on our healing and that what we put in our bodies will either heal us or make us sicker. In the same way that we use pharmaceuticals to impact our biology, we can use food as our medicine. I call this concept food pharmacology. Food is one of the most powerful tools in your healing journey.” - Dr. Izabella Wentz More than 35 million Americans currently suffer from Hashimoto’s―the country’s fastest-growing autoimmune disease, which affects the thyroid gland and causes the body to attack its own cells. Many individuals with or without a formal diagnosis suffer daily symptoms, including chronic cough, acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, allergies, persistent pain, hair loss, brain fog, and forgetfulness. Hashimoto’s Food Pharmacology combines Dr. Izabella Wentz’s revolutionary and proven approach to reversing thyroid symptoms with delicious, easy-to-use recipes that delight the taste buds while they heal the body. Inside this cookbook you will discover: • 125 delicious and nutritious recipes for salads, smoothies, bone broths and crockpot and bibimbap-style meals, with thyroid-supporting nutrient details on every page • Over 100 stunning food and lifestyle photographs • Tips for revamping your kitchen and pantry • An FAQ for easy reference and quick answers • Easy-to-use, personalized meal plans and food rotation schedules to accommodate any diet Successfully transforming the lives of thousands, Dr. Izabella Wentz makes it easier than ever before to implement a healing diet and live a life free from the suffering of autoimmune disease. Review: Still My Favorite Cookbook after 2 years. - So thankful for this book! I purchased this along with a few others when my girls were diagnosed with Hashimoto's. We purchased it a couple years ago and it is still my favorite cookbook. The author definitely knows what it's like to be a mom and likely shops at Costco. I found all the recipes to be in the quantities and types of foods I already purchase and they aren't too difficult and taste great. The information in the first half of the book is spot on with everything else I have read about healing your body naturally - don't skip this - it's good. We had complete success with diet and natural supplements and haven't had to take any medication. They have their labs tested regularly to make sure everything is good and so far so good. The book is hardcover and has beautiful photos that accurately represent the dishes. They also make a great gift as I have had to repurchase this because I've given mine away. Review: dr. wentz is a top resource for hashimoto's - i own dr. wentz' other two books. she can be quite an information overload when you're first feeling out knowledge on hashimoto's but she is one of the best sources as well. the first part of the book is a condensed version of what you might find in her other two books while also diving more deeply into how your diet affects your autoimmune disease. the dialogue is approachable, and the author both personal and likeable. as far as the recipes go, i've made five at this point: hot lemon water, spa water (do these count, lol!) truffled veggies, beef stew, and bibimbap bowls. all three FOOD recipes have been very successful for me, though i have to sub quite a few things due to my gut/food sensitivities. beef stew was bison stew; the meat in my bibimbap was bison meatballs as well, as i react to beef (and chicken, and fish!). i can't have garlic or onions so i leave those out as well as the avocado in the bibimbap. despite all that, everything has been a success and i just have to remind myself that i'm eating to heal right now. i hope some day soon i'll be able to reintroduce everything so i can have these recipes as they should be enjoyed. please don't hesitate to give this cookbook a try. everything is simple, straightforward, delicious, and doesn't require a ton of prep or cleanup. thank you, dr. wentz!

The Recipes are Actually Good!
There is a lot of information in this book. I can't speak to if it will answer all your needs. However, unlike most healthy eating books, this one actually has recipes that I enjoy. Following the diet is not hard or a chore when the food is good. Try the Grapes with Quail (we use chicken) or the beef stew that I make every week for lunch. For my household, we are now eating healthier, cheaper, and with less food preparation time. I'll leave the rest of the contents for others to review.

Ended up returning
This is a really great book if you’ve just been diagnosed with Hashimotos, trying to learn more about the disease and how to cook with Hashimotos in mind. I’ve been diagnosed for over a year (& had suspicions I had it for several years before) and had worked closely with a thyroid specialist for 6 months. I was looking for something that wasn’t for beginners which this book is for those beginning their Hashimotos journey. Additionally, the recipes can easily be found online by searching Paleo or keto recipes. I even made up my own shepherds pie alternative, so the recipes didn’t really provide me with any new ideas that I’ve either already created on my own with the knowledge I’ve learned over the years or have found when googling keto/paleo recipes.

Very Usable and Valuable Guidance
This is a beautiful book to start with…the real value to me is that it has a very clear and simple guide to overhauling your kitchen for those of us who have autoimmune issues and MuST overhaul our diets completely. This has been an issue for me - having brain fog … trying to do this task has been overwhelming! Isabella has a link to her website that allows us to print out this task - and checkboxes as you go. It is the most straightforward assistance I’ve found. I’ve read in other reviews that her approach is not accessible to everyone - say the busy mom…too much prep and expensive ingredients. AcTually, there are substitutes for difficult ingredients, as well as a direct way to request any further suggestions you may need…email the source and her staff DoeS answer in a very timely fashion. As for it being too much work - it has to be done. It is an investment into a healthy, Happy future. The meal plan includes foods that the whole family will eat. You might be surprised at how much they too benefit from clean eating. My husband is a huge fan now. Bottom line, a kitchen overhaul is something every expert I’ve read includes. This book gave me a straight forward map/guide that I just had to follow one step at a time and Voila! I did it! YeP, lots of good prep in my future. It’s a GReaT way to SaVe money and not have to think too hard. I just follow her meal plan until my brain is clear enough to where I can make my own menu again. Thank you Thyroid Pharmacist!

A must-have book for anyone with Hashimoto;s
I absolutely LOVE this book. Izabella does a fabulous job of explaining Hashimoto's and the principles and science that support her healing through nutrition approach. She explains the "why" behind the concepts she presents. I found the information in this book comprehensive and extremely helpful. It goes way beyond typical medical advice. As an integrative health coach and person with Hashimoto's, I know firsthand how powerful and life-changing this material is. Izabella takes a difficult subject and breaks it down into easy, manageable steps. I just started trying the healthy recipes and so far they are delicious. I am dairy and gluten-free and can eat all the recipes in this book - yay! The directions are simple and the photographs are beautiful. I can't wait to keep trying new ones. I am now recommending it to all my clients who have Hashimoto's as well as people with other autoimmune conditions.

Buon libro e spedizione
Arrivato puntuale.
