I had this same question. Which formulation is this? The one with Berberine? or the one with grapfruit seed extract and bentonite?

The one I purchased had Berberine. However, not very much. If you are looking for a good Berberine formula try Douglas Labs Berberine Balance which also has a little Grapefruit Seed extract and Linolic Acid as well, or one that has 500 MG of pure Berberine. There is a company called Glycosolve in a Blue Bottle that has 500 MG of pure Berberine per tablet and sells for about $19 if that is what you are looking for.

Can you explain how the time-release mechanism works? Is it delayed release due to enteric coating? or is it different? Does it reach the colon? Pls.

Thorne's Undecyn contains calcium undecylenate, which is most effective in an acidic environment. It is intended for activity in the intestines, which tends to be a more alkaline environment. Therefore, the betaine HCl is added in a time-release matrix (Time-Sorb) so the calcium undecylenate is released in the intestines instead of in the stomach, to functionally create an environment in the intestines that is more acidic than normal.
