Theater Solutions TS80C in Ceiling 8" Speakers Surround Sound Home Theater Pair, White

I was searching for 5 1/4" HT speakers because I had an area with very tight clearances - especially depth in the ceiling. All the other 8 ohm ceiling speakers I found here had depths that started at 3+" and went up from there. Once I found the Theater Solutions TS50C (5 1/4", 2.25" height, 2 way, white grilles) with those specs (on the their website), I realized I had found the speakers for my applications. I was suspicious and worried about how inexpensive they were though...I always try to buy the highest quality so I don't get "buyer's remorse" and suddenly start justifying the price of that most expensive model. But once I received these speakers, it was obvious that the quality far exceeds the low price. It's like a pricing error. Ha Ha. And Prime shipping sealed the bargain.First of all, the packaging reminds me of how Apple packages it's products. Very protective and professional looking. Secondly, the product design is first rate and makes the installation a breeze: Drill a 6 7/8" hole with a hole-saw for recessed lights, connect 2 wires and turn 4 screws... that's it! And lastly, the sound is surprising - clear and clean and can really take some power without clipping.Sure, if you have space for a 7-10" hole and 3-5" above, then the expensive high-end 6 1/2" or 8" speakers might be just the ticket, but if you match the quality of these TS50Cs with a decent subwoofer, you will be completely surprised and satisfied with this purchase. I bought two sets.

I did not expect much audio quality from these speakers at this price point. I have been very pleasantly surprised. Fantastic sound for music listening. Buy these, they will not disappoint.

As soon as these came in I installed them. Was looking for an in-ceiling speaker that had a pivoting tweeter and didn’t cost 300+. The 6.5” model and up are the ones to go for if you’re looking for something similar. The sound of these actually are closer in timber with my other speakers. They are a tad bit brighter though. Needless to say these were a good choice. Glad I decided on them.

I wouldn’t use these as main listening speakers but they seem to work fine as atmos speakers or for simple surround.

The media could not be loaded. Good bang for your buck right here I only have these 2 ceiling speakers hooked up to test the sound and man they sound good. Install was easy just make the cut out comes with a template to trace out the cut then just pop the screen covers off with the provided hook to pull cover off then wire them in then slip them in the ceiling it has 4 Phillip head screws you have to screw in for it to hook on to the ceiling tighten the screws till you see it get flush with the ceiling, screwing them in almost sounded like I broke a plastic from the hooks but no it was fine did on almost all. Good quality for the money.

These are a great looking speaker and grille. I installed these into our ceiling and using a keyhole saw it was a cinch to do with the included paper template. My only problem now is the volume is half what the front set of speakers are putting out. I am going to have to find some way to balance the volume from the front speakers now to match these. I believe these and my front speakers are eight ohm but have not investigated to be sure. Usually that is the problem, one set is four ohm and the other is eight. I believe that is where the problem lies. Possibly placing an eight ohm resistor across the front set of speaker terminals may correct this situation but I will have to research this since I have been out of the electronics loop for so long now. I appreciate any helpful comments on this.

The speakers are great. My biggest problem was with the instructions for installation.This product comes with 2 templates (which is really one template within another). One is for for cutting the hole in the ceiling and the other is for painting. It is not clear which is which. I took my best guess and after cutting the whole discovered I used the wrong one. It was very frustrating. Also, it says to use some tool to remove the screen, but it doesn't say how to use the tool. I had to look up how to use that tool on the internet.

Just received these, not installed or connected them as yet, so this review is only about my first impression - that's a "wow !" I'll update this review when I get them installed and broken in for a sound test.They are a rock solid product - by that I mean they are substantial in build for their purpose with zero evidence of cheap cost cutting and poor manufacturing techniques that you'd expect from products in this price range: the internal wiring is all soldered and crossover components are substantial.I'm anticipating performance to match.
