EA Create (PC)

A great idea - solve games to make more games. The graphics are fun, and good quality, even on a low end machine. Sadly though, the game becomes very repetitive very quickly. The game seems to run out of ideas, the EA stuck on the 'Let's Paint Everything' option. If, like me, you'd previously played 'Crazy Machines' and thought you'd upgrade to this... don't! Crazy Machines is much better.

Top game...definitely a kid's game, but colourful and interesting enough for some casual fun.Challenges and designing are clear and simple, there is a large number of unlocks which adds to your inventory for later use in the challenges and design phase.Easy to join online with your existing EA ID (if you have one) or just create a new one. Then you can post your designs or challenges online and have them rated.But the stand out feature is trying other users' challenges and figuring out how to complete them.

From the promotional video, this looked like it would be a lot of fun. I'm sure it might be if you can figure out how the game is played and how to use all the controls. The directions supplied are minimal and very confusing. There's no demo to show you what you are actually supposed to be doing. Just getting started took three of us (all experienced game players) two hours. By that time, my son (for whom the game was bought), had given up on the thing and now has no real interest in it.
