Works for my Mac, But....
While I am an old time computer user (started in 1968) I have never owned a bluetooth device until I was recently acquired a Motorola RAZR. I looked around for a way to get the music and ring tones from my older Mac (G4 running OS X 10.4.11) to the RAZR. I found the D-Link device and saw many positive reviews so I ordered one. It arrived and with much fanfare, I opened the box then inserted the device into the end of the USB extension cable. This cable is a high quality shielded cable about 28 inches long I leave plugged into my Adaptec powered hub since my computer does not have a USB port on the front.I then spent over 4 hours trying to figure out why the bluetooth preference did not show up in the set of system preferences. No mater what I tried it was not there, the bluetooth preference had disappeared. I read the manual, searched the vendor web site, and searched Apples web site all with with no luck. The most irritating part was that it worked perfectly for my wife on her e-mac. She just plugged it in, opened the system preferences selected bluetooth, followed the on screen directions and installed her ring tone. ( And I am supposed to be the computer expert in our house... Grrrr..)After I slept on the matter, I unplugged the adaptor from the cable and inserted it directly into the Adaptec powered hub (Not sure why I thought of this) and presto all was right with the world. The setup was a breeze, and I now drag and drop files to and from the RAZR v3xx in true Mac fashion with no problem. (My wife used the USB port on the side of her computer the first time)Thus in two out of two tries, the device works exactly as advertised - right out of the box. I just wish someone somewhere had told me to beware of cables and plug the device directly into the computer port. Perhaps after you read this you will know to remove the cable if your bluetooth system preference does not show up.- Jerry

D-Link DBT-120 Wireless Bluetooth 2.0 USB Adapter
The product performed just as it was supposed to and was easy to install. In fact, it performed WAY above it's expectations due to being flattened, wet, and all the holes in it! Now let me explain what I mean. When I got the adapter in the mail that day I opened the package to see how the piece was. The seller had sent the part wrapped in bubble wrap and in an envelope. After I saw the part was in excellent condition as the seller had described, I wrapped it back up in the bubble wrap, placed it in the envelope, and put it back on the counter. I had to run an errand and was gone 30 minutes and when I got back, I was not happy. While I was gone, my cat had jumped on the counter, opened the package and got the adapter out. He then knocked it on to the floor when the dog came running in and scared him. From there, the dog began to chew it up, soak it with saliva while chewing on it, and punch holes all in the adapter. Once I got it out of his mouth I was like, this thing will never work. Low and behold, the next morning when I stuck it in the computer to install the device, it worked PERFECTLY and still does till this day!! D-Link, you make one great product!!

Great hardware, poor testing and support
I bought this adapter specifically to use a bluetooth headset on my G5 Mac. I selected the product based on earlier reviews and Apple support articles recommending it. I'd give the hardware 5 stars - works great - but I'm docking D-Link 2 stars for poor testing and support. The problem is D-Link is now shipping rev C of the product, and it fails Apple's firmware version test in the OSX 10.4 bluetooth headset setup. Current versions of the DBT-120 do not work with headsets in OSX 10.4. They do work in OSX 10.5.I took this through the support chain at both D-Link and Apple. No one could give me a definitive answer. The Apple folks could only say that bluetooth support was "much improved" in 10.5. The D-Link phone support people were clueless - far as I could tell they didn't even have a troubleshooting script for Apple. An email exchange with a backup support engineer indicated that they had never tested the rev C adapters with headsets on OSX.I finally upgraded to OSX 10.5 for other reasons, and the combination does work.- Andy

Get a different brand
I bought this adapter in order to use a bluetooth headset with my computer. Starting off, the installation process was incredibly long and definitely not seamless. Once it was finally installed, my headset was able to connect, but no audio was transmitted to or from my headset. My phone was also able to connect, but the connection was incredibly slow. It took several minutes to transfer several small files, which I could transfer in seconds over USB.After being unable to get my headset to work with the adapater, I decided to return it and try a different brand. Uninstalling the software was a pain. Using the uninstall package left a ton of files and drivers still installed, and I had to go through and remove them manually. Then I returned the D-Link adapter and got a Linksys adapter instead. The Linksys adapter worked with my headset perfectly with no fuss, and the software was much more lightweight and user friendly. The only good thing I have to say about this whole thing is that Amazon has a very good return service. There was no problem at all with returning the adapter, and the only effort I had to put into it was dropping the package off at the Post Office.
