Crystal Vision Anti Theft Loud 130db Alarm Heavy Duty Bike Lock Weather Proof Multi Purpose

Purchased the lock for the wrought iron driveway gate due to curious people driving onto our property to look at our house and access the pier numerous times. Hoped that the audible alarm would discourage these unexpected visitors and allay the worries of our friendly neighbors. The alarm itself was easy to operate and appear sturdy with the possible exception of the orange tip. The lock came with 3-keys, bike mount, and instructions. Instructions were a little too basic but adequate. 3-keys were nice bonus. I wish the alarm were a bit louder but probably adequate and hasn’t disturbed my neighbors. No precipitation in over a month so can’t provide insight on its ability to endure the weather and too early to see how it handles the waterfront environment. Customer service has been excellent. Communication was very quick. The shipping was less than half the expected duration. Unfortunately, I was initially sent the incorrect lock but they quickly remedied the mistake.

I rely on this lock for its alarm function. The alarm isn’t as sensitive as earlier version, which I leaned from the company was a change due to complaints it was over sensitive. What’s an alarm for then? Clarification: this alarm didn’t go off till after I’d loaded the bike on the rach and was driving down the road…had to pull over and reset it.

The quality of the two locks I bought: the U bolt w/ 130 DB alarm and the chain lock w/ 130 DB alarm, seems good, I haven't actually used them yet but my initial impression upon receiving them it that they will work fine. However I tried to register the locks at their site and also asked about the process for getting them keyed to use the same keys. Unfortunately their response to the two ticket items I posted is less than stellar: Its been over a week with no response.

I love the idea of the lock but I returned it thinking it was defective. It wasn't. Silly me. I didn't take the plastic off of the battery and that's why the alarm didn't work. I had to buy it from another popular selling site where I was able to speak directly to the seller. He was amazing! Amazon was horrible at dealing with my problem. He sent me a video of what I did wrong and promptly sent me a new Crystal Vision Alarm U Lock. The alarm is loud and easy to set. I apologize to the seller for my mistake in thinking there was something wrong with the lock. Thank you so much for your personal attention to this matter and for going above and beyond in making me a happy customer. I am very happy with my lock.

NOT WHEATHER PROOF! worked till it rained. Barely had it 6 weeks. Will not buy again. Rip off. I feel like there is a better design for the battery compartment. The screw is small and awkward putting back in. Drop and pray is the best starting method. The width of the u-bolt is smaller than I expected. Will not go around a 4" wide tire. Alarm is loud and very easy to set off. Starts quiet 4 beeps. If you play with it you can lock it without the alarm being set. Havent quite figured that out yet exactly but if u do and u want to arm the alarm simply unlock and lock again. If U hear a tone similar to a car alarm locking it is locked/unlocked as with car 2 different sounds. Double=locked and armed. May play with it tomorrow to figure out how to lock without arming so I can use the attachment piece and ride without the key in the lock in a halfway position. The locking post protrudes on both sides of the u bolt I wouldn't trust in high crime areas if ur outside of hearing range.

Used the product for 2 years to lock bikes while camping. During one trip, we got coastal flooding while at the beach. The alarm no longer works on the lock. Otherwise, the locking portion still works. UPDATE: The lock does not work any longer. The locking mechanism appears to be corroded and key will no longer turn. Used a lubricants and rust removal product with no luck. Will now look for a more resilient product.

I have an expensive, cool looking E-mountain bike. Of course I’ve been concerned about it being stolen having had that experience with other bikes in my past. I bought the Crystal Vision SHBLA lock to use specifically on my bike rack at home that’s located on my back patio. I tested it to see if I can hear it from my bedroom about 50’ away and I can. It certainly makes me feel better knowing that it will strongly deter anyone from taking my bike now. I only hope it’ll never have to be put to the test. Of course I bring it with me when I’m out riding. The alarm and strength of the lock certainly gives me peace of mind.

This lock is great. Sometimes I don't even need to lock my bike. I'll just turn on the alarm and it's enough to make a thief think twice. I'm a bike messenger and I have a lot of stuff on my bike that thieves love to snatch like my speakers, bike tools and just anything in my basket. If I'm in a bad neighborhood I'll lock it on my bike for extra protection. The only con is riding in the rain you have to make sure to blow out all the water that gets in it. I use an air compressor and pull apart every part and blow out the water and wipe it down. No problems so far.

Used less than a month, the alarm system doesn't work...

La electrónica pésima, a la primera lluvia ya empezó a no conectar la alarma y al mes de uso no abre el candado, ha quedado eternamente cerrado, por suerte no fue puesto en mi moto. Pésimo!!
