Wet the filter before use and it'll stick and not fallout.
Firstly, people say they're a bit loose, not a perfect fit. Although this is true, if you wet the filter first just like as if it were paper, you'll find not only does the filter stick, it also helps when creating an airtight seal. The way I use my Aeropress is in the inverted position. I add the coffee grind, pour in the hot water, stir, and then place the filter cap and expel the air by pushing down until I feel resistance. With the air expelled I turn the right way up and you'll find it doesn't leak at all which means you can allow a little bit more brewing time before you push down. Once I have pushed all the coffee out, I pull the plunger back a little bit so the filter remains within the filter cap. The rest you already know. To be honest, this review should be about the filters themselves, and I would say they are of great quality. I was pretty much impressed that although they are not paper filters, like paper filters the sediment is left behind with the coffee cake, there is no sediment at the end of your coffee enjoyment. I am extremely impressed with these steel filters. Not only do they work, they're going to save me an awful lot of money while at the same time producing excellent tasting coffee, without the sediment.

Highly recommended
Great for your aero press. Still using mine 2 years later. Think of all the paper that saves. Fits perfectly allows for smooth functional water flow

Great little filters
I've used these filters a lot, so certainly got my money's worth. They fit well in my aeropress and filter the coffee perfectly. They're also easy to clean. Make sure you don't pop it in the bin/compost along with your used coffee grinds. It's great to have reusable filters, so I don't have to keep buying the paper ones, or run out. Happy with my purchase.

Must have!
I've tried several attachments for the Aeropress, but the Koffi superfine filter is the best for me. It has now replaced my use of paper filters. I get a flavour filled cup every time, and to my taste it's perfect. Paper filter does taste nice, but I like a little more of the oils and goodness in my cup, and Koffi does that. i) Put the plunger in to the Aeropress and leave it level with the bottom of the 3/S (See photo) Invert and leave to one side. ii) Grind 20g of fresh coffee beans quite fine with a Comandante grinder (Not sure the click setting but i will edit this post if I figure it out) iii) Put the coffee grounds into the inverted Aeropress. Shake gently to level. iv) Boil water, filtered tastes better. Pour the boiled water into the Aeropress almost to the top. Leave a little room as you will be stirring. v) Stir vigorously for 45-60 seconds. Top up the remaining space with water. Should only be 1/2 a cm or so. vi) Carefully put the Koffi superfine filter in the cap and place on the Aeropress. Make sure it is securely tightened. Place the Aeropress Go mug, or your cup, on top of the Aeropress and turn the press over so there's no mess. vii) Press the plunger gently, steadily, SLOWLY. I probably press for at least 1m or more. Press through the hiss and give one good push at the end to compress the puck. viii) Add water to the coffee solution to your required level. I like a large mug. 20g gives me a perfect strength coffee (to my taste) based on filling a full Aeropress Go mug, or a large 400-500ml mug. I leave a little room for milk. The long stir inverted seems to extract a lot of the flavours without leaking. I do have the Fellow Prismo originally for that purpose but the Koffi Superfine is much better for taste. Easy to rinse after, and better for travel. I don't use the standard Koffi filter, just the superfine. I've just bought another Koffi filter for my spare Aeropress. Try it!

Not as fine as I though
Overall this filter is OK though even the fine filter is not that fine compared to the original paper filters I got with my Aeropress. I find that when adding the water it drains through quite quickly so the coffee has less time to brew, and then the pressure required to press is much less than with the paper filters. To be fair the instruction on the pack suggest using the inverted method of pressing in the Areopress which allows a longer brew phase but it remains that the pressure is less. This is when using Espresso ground coffee (bought ground or grinding myself). Using cafetière ground coffee makes the matter worse. I heard (podcast from a reliable speaker/source) that many of the benefits of coffee (polyphenols etc) are dissolved in the coffee oils - but also that paper filters absorb those oils! Thus, I decided to give metal filters a go in order to retain those helpful elements removed by paper filters. So, in short, these filters are almost what I want but not quite! I may buy another fine filter disc and use both together, see if that helps.

Great flavour, would recommend
I purchased these instead of refills of my paper filters and have been pleased. I make coffee every morning with my Aeropress, and I've been using the mesh filter for a few weeks now (I haven't yet tried the fine). I was worried initially about adapting to the inverted method, but this turned out to be easy to learn and I haven't had any problems. The flavour of the coffee is noticeably better and richer with the mesh vs paper filter. Oddly enough, with the mesh filter, the little hockey puck of used grounds pops out the bottom of the press after use much more cleanly, leaving minimal residue on the plunger. The filter itself is very easy to keep clean. The only thing I've noticed is that the filter is slightly smaller than the press, and obviously thicker than paper. This means that it doesn't fit in the press perfectly centred. It also means that the black cap doesn't lock in all the way when the mesh filter is in, and it takes slightly more effort to put it on and remove it. Neither of these things has led to any problems/leaks that I've noticed. Overall I'm very happy with the mesh filter - a non-disposable alternative for a good price that actually makes better-tasting coffee!

Paper filters are better in Aeropress.
Neither of these filters is sufficiently fine to replace the paper filters supplied with the Aeropress. They are well made, fit well and are easy to use and clean. However they let too much of the finer coffee grounds through resulting in sludge in the bottom of your cup - just where you expect the Aeropress to score so highly over a cafetière. Maybe the ultra fine filter would be more effective. I think I’ll stick with the paper ones though and reuse them as many times as possible. In the long run that maybe more cost effective and kinder to the environment?

Improves the press but still really need paper filters too
Still use the paper filters together with the mesh filter otherwise you lose the simplicity of cleaning. The used coffee forms a plug with the paper which is just pushed into the bin no messing. The mesh stays in the end and is just reused. The combination of paper and mesh gives some time for the coffee to percolate and increases the pressure of the press , separately I found the coffee just flowed through the paper or mesh very quickly without any pressure diluting the coffee.I therefore recommend the mesh , but you still really need the filter papers too.
