Aero Double-Wall Titanium Camping Mug, Insulated Backpacking Cup 450mL

Super lightweight titanium done by skilled crafts people. More highly polished than many titanium products, making it attractive and probably less likely to stain. This is equivalent in workmanship to its more famous counterpart also made in Japan (not China!) and I highly recommend it. If you are looking for a lid for this the Klean Kanteen tumbler lid is a perfect fit. Amazon’s listing says it comes with a lid, but it does not. Awesome mug anyway! DOES NOT come with lid Despite write up and picture!

Probably a good mug - but it doesn't come with a lid. Thought it was a mistake the first time so I sent it back and ordered another...also no lid.

I was looking for a double wall Snow Peak 450, but all I could find were the ones with a handle and I wanted a mug style cup. Also didn't want a China made mug if it could be avoided. Decided to try the Soto 450 mug. Very nicely made, equal IMHO to Snow Peak quality wise. There is a little temperature transfer as it is double wall but not vacuum insulated. The outside got a little warm with boiling waster in it, but less than a typical ceramic mug gets. I dumped some ice and cold water in it this morning and there was no condensation on the outside of the mug so I'm happy about that. It is now my favorite mug, mainly because I like titanium. I wish I could get a larger mug without having to get a Chinese made one!

I originally ordered this titanium cup thinking it came with a lid, based on the listing and other reviews. Unfortunately, it did not arrive with one. Amazon quickly sent a replacement, but that one also showed up without a lid which was pretty frustrating. I ended up calling Soto directly, and to their credit, they answered immediately. I explained the situation and how the listing clearly showed a lid included. They acknowledged it was a mistake, said they’d work with the seller to fix it, and shipped me a lid themselves to make it right. Since then, the listing has been updated to clarify that the lid is not included. The level of customer service really turned the experience around for me. As for the cup itself, it’s exactly what I’d expect from Soto. Lightweight, simple, and solid. One thing to note (as others have mentioned) is that it doesn’t appear to be vacuum insulated, so you will feel some heat transfer. That said, it’s not enough to be uncomfortable. I poured in boiling water and could hold it just fine. Honestly, in colder weather it’s actually kind of nice to feel a bit of warmth through the cup. It also does a decent job keeping drinks warm and better than the single walled titanium cook cups I have. The lid they sent seems well made. It does not have a cap over the hole so not leak resistant, but it should help a bit with insulation and heat retention. I’m not sure if it’s sold separately, so that’s something to check before purchasing. For $45, it's a bit steep for the cup alone, but I have many other Soto products and trust the quality. One bonus: the cup nests nicely with my water bottle setup (M!GO by Mazama), which is great for backpacking. I can store it efficiently in my pack without wasting space. Overall, the ordering experience was frustrating, but Soto’s customer service saved it. Quality product, and a company that stands behind it.

Have many Soto items and this one is a 5 star like all the others. Purchased this for ultra light hiking so when it comes time for coffee it will be hot but not on the lips. Would recommend if 15 oz to the top of the mug is the right size for you.

The first cup I ordered had a tiny crack along the brim. I didn’t realize this until I washed the cup with warm soapy water and heard a hissing and saw bubbles coming from the crack. I returned the cup and ordered a replacement. I inspected the replacement closely immediately after I received it and found another crack. It’s small, but it’s enough that water could enter and be impossible to clean. After two back-to-back misses, I think I’ll try a different brand.

Light, double wall, perfect diameter. Even the inner radius is pleasing to my upper lip - odd to mention, but true. The 450 ml mug has just become my favorite mug both on trail and at home. Reminiscent of vintage naval watch mugs - without the heft. What's not to like? I found that Campsaver had a good price with quick shipping compared to ordering direct from the US Soto distributor. YMMV.

It's not well finished with many scratches. When I paid that amount in a cup, I expected the manufacturing to be better than this. And there's that weird black spot inside the cup. Also, it could be a quality problem

The Mug is very light and nicely polished and came well packed but it was advertised as a two piece set I only received a Mug with no lid.
