Question 1

What material are these made of? I am looking for something that kids won't break easily. Thanks!

Accepted Answer

It is made of Vitrelle, a tempered glass product consisting of two types of glass laminated into three layers. The thermal bonding of these layers gives Corelle its strength, allowing it to be thinner and lighter than other dinnerware. It is durable, in addition to being chemical resistant, and is both dishwasher and microwave safe. It was introduced by Corning Glass Works in 1970, but is now manufactured and sold by World Kitchen.1 A typical Corelle dinner plate measures 26 centimetres in diameter and weighs 355 grams. They are very durable. I have dropped them on my wood kitchen floor and they do not break. However, since they are made of glass, they can be broken if the impact is hard enough. They do not break easily though and would be my choice over plastic for use with children.

Question 2

Is Corelle fixing the issue that most reviewers are reporting? I’m hoping I don’t get only 5 bowls...

Accepted Answer

This set does come with 6 bowls. We're sorry to see you only got 5 bowls in your set, Donna. Please send our team a message at this link https://corellebrands.com/consumer-care/. We'd be happy to help!

Question 3

it says in description “soft gray borders” Is this just white?

Accepted Answer

No, there is a soft Gray pattern on the edges of "Mystic" gray plate. Please be aware that Corelle offers "White" AND "Winterfrost" The "White" is a brighter white than the Winterfrost. (maybe they are suggesting it has a gray cast to it, but I do not see that)
Sometimes, I have seen pieces in the outlet stores that have a "yellowish tinge" to the white. Hence, most likely why they are at the outlet store due to a color malfunction.

Question 4

Need bowls about 8.5” d by 1.5” deep. i use for omelettes, portofino design. suggestions??

Accepted Answer

We would recommend our Corelle® Winter Frost White 30-ounce Versa Meal Bowl ( 8.5'' diameter x 1.5'' high ).
