This technology has a promising future with the potential to drastically reduce our carbon footprint. I am not an HVAC professional but I found this book very easy to read and understand. It held my attention well and gave me the information I was looking for. It's a great resource! Review: Great read for a novice or expert! - What a great book! I am a home owner looking to have a Geothermal HVAC and pool system installed in my house in central Florida. I have neighbors who had it in New York and up north where the technology has been around for years. They all suggested using a closed loop system because that it what they knew about and what most installers suggest. After reading Mr. Egg and Mr. Howard's book I found that a closed loop might not be the best solution for my Florida home. After shopping around for an installer, I finally found one and showed him the book and what I had read. He was just as impressed as I was and we are now moving forward with a pump and re-inject systems. This book is truly helpful to home owners, commercial business owners and installers looking to know more about this fantastic technology.

Just Purchased a Geothermal HVAC Unit
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book about geothermal HVAC! It's chuck-full of helpful information, tips, and advice about the process of buying a geothermal heat pump and about the installation process. I had been considering installing a geothermal heat pump system for a few years but I didn't feel like I knew enough about the technology to make the leap. This book gave me the information I needed and I knew that investing in this technology was definitely the route I wanted to take. So, about 6 weeks ago I took the plunge and contacted the two geothermal installers in my area for bids. During our meetings I felt like I had the knowledge and understanding about the topic to be able to converse with them and I understood the terminology they were using. I felt informed and confident conversing about the subject. Anyways, I choose one of the installers (again, the book helped me know which would be best depending on the brands they offered and certifications they had). I've had my new HVAC system for a little over a week now and we are loving it! The unit is super quiet (we never hear the air kick on or off), the temperature seems more stable throughout the day, and it takes up less space than my old system. I haven't received my first electric bill since the installation but I'm expecting to see quite a drop! Overall, I've become a total believer in this technology. I've had a very successful experience and the book helped guide me through it all. 5 stars from me!
