Great belt for lifting heavy objects...like my dog!
I actually bought this for a very specific purpose not having to do with going to the gym. I have an 85 lb yellow lab who is 10 and has arthritis. Stairs have become a huge issue and sometimes he just can't make them up them alone. On those occasions I have to carry him (or at least provide serious support). In the past I have hurt my lower back (which is prone to problems) trying to get him up the stairs. I got this belt to simply wear when I need to lift him. I've now used it once for that and I have to say that it really did provide the needed support and my back did not hurt after carrying my dog. It's very lightweight, yet extremely sturdy and the velcro belt cinches easily and holds firm. You should remember that when you order, your size is not your waist size. Measure around your gut at belly button level. I am a 29" waist, but around my midsection I am a 33". I went for the X-Small even though I was right on the cusp and I believe I made the right size choice. I make the belt very snug and although because I'm at the high end of the X-Small size I only get a bit of the velcro closure, it holds great.

Misleading Price - Please Read
I'm a 33 year old former Marine, retired amateur power lifter who works as a residential home builder. I have two back injuries that have made my heavy compound lifts painful for the past ten years which have only been exacerbated by the asymmetric lifting you have to do in the construction industry. I've always been a raw lifter, white knuckle through the pain and work on your form and rehabilitation so you can do it on your own. I went from a PR deadlift of 515lbs at 178lbs to a max deadlift of 415lbs at 210lbs as the pain increased and my form and workouts suffered. Introduce the FireTeam Fit weightlifting belt. So simple even a Marine could use it. Following my military training I ordered four, fully expecting to eat one, lose one, and break the other. I have no pain, none. My thoracic stability is incredible. All the minor issues that accumulated trying to minimize the pain are slowly going away. In two working sessions I increased my working weight by 50lbs squatting and 65lbs deadlifting. If there was a way to give six stars I would, and the mission of the Fire Team Fit crew to help support transitioning veterans is incredible. This is the first and only purchase I've made from the team, but they're going to be the first place I go if I ever need more gear or want to replace this incredible piece of equipment. So here's the negative part of the review; the Fire Team Fit squad claims that this belt is only $33.99. Believe me when I say this piece of gear is going to cost you several hundred dollars by the time you've factored in all the additional expenses. As your squat and deadlift working weight goes up, all those pants that used to fit so comfortably are going to rip like a modern day Lou Ferrigno turning into the Hulk. Those shirts? Yeah, those snatches and clean and press are going to make your upper body look like a kite. If you have a home gym like me you're going to have to invest in even more plates as your maxes continue to rise beyond what your pitiful collection can support. I've had to explain all this to my wife and, trust me, it can be a hard sell. Add in those marital counseling sessions and this has turned into one of the priciest pieces of training equipment I've ever owned....and I'd do it all over again. Thanks Fire Team Fit

Meet all expectations
This belt as performed with with my lifts which include olympic style and standard barbell lifts. I choose this product because if was made by former military members and because of the strongman lifts. It has provided the level of comfort I wanted and has performed as I have desired. I have not had it for a year yet to know if it will meet my durability standards, but we will see. As for "support" and "pain relief", I have found it supported me will in my heavy squats days and Yoke walks without cutting into my sides or giving any.

Great belt, well-built
I have a 37-1/2 waist where I put the belt (slightly above the love handles), and as I'm on the heavy side but on my way to losing weight, I purchased size Small, as I wanted the belt to fit snuggly. It does fit snuggly (as it's supposed to), the Velcro gripping a good three inches when I strap it on, and this Velcro is not going to come loose, and there's plenty of more gripping Velcro for when I slim down. In front there's a gap where the two ends of the belt meet at my navel of one inch, so meaning that the ends don't overlap. This size is perfect, and I spend so much detail on sizing as it seems to be the item that most people messed up when ordering. Belt is very well constructed, nice stitching, as has been noted by others, and it's light weight even while providing a powerful 'cinching' effect. I like the metal buckle with the rolling tube, nice touch. I'd heartily recommend for the at-home weight lifter, or gym warrior. I had wondered about the raised padding design on the back, and now I realize the belt is so light-weight that those provide a stiffened back so that the belt spreads the force evenly across the belt back; again, a nice touch. Moreover, if this is the quality of other Fire Team Fit products, I'd probably purchase from them again.

Awesome Lifting Belt!!!
When lifting nothing is more important than safety, choosing the right belt made of the right material, quality construction, size, and comfort can make a huge difference. This is definitely one of the better belts I've used over several years for the above reasons. The reason a leather belt is preferable is it offers superior abdominal support since it overlaps at the buckle and doesn't stretch. I ordered this belt a size larger than needed to overlap to provide that same support as the abdominal area will extend during a lift, that is NOT what you want happening. The ideal scenario is having your entire midsection wrapped. Nylon is an excellent choice as it doesn't stretch as other materials. This belt offers a far superior level of adjustment due to the Velcro closure which seems sturdy, strong, and long enough to accommodate various clothing thickness. The last thing you want is the Velcro coming undone while lifting, especially heavy. It's far more comfortable with an ergonomic design while offering precautionary safety. Definitely a five star belt for its intended use.

Great Belt, Great Price.
I bought this belt for weight lifting purposes. I have a slipped disc in my lumbar spine and am in the process of scheduling yet another spinal fusion surgery. This belt is the only reason that I can rationalize stepping foot in the gym. This belt gives me enough support to feel like I am ok doing what I'm doing. (That and the fact that I have, greatly reduced the weight I am lifting.). This belt looked better than some of the others I saw listed because it is a little wider and looks like it can give more support, and it does. It is also very stylish, pink camo, and there are many other choices that could be used by either men or women. The only negative thing I can mention is that they run large. I measured myself and according to that measurement, I ordered a small and it was too large so I had to send if back and get an extra small so I would recommend ordering a size smaller than you think you need. Overall, this is a great product and I would recommend ordering it.

Great belt, great support, great price, respectable company
I was looking at several different options for weightlifting belts when I found this one from Fire Team Fit. The reviews were good, the price was good, and I liked the sound of the company, so I made my decision. I am still pretty new to heavy lifting, so I was pretty regularly pushing too hard without a quality belt and subsequently injuring myself. I had borrowed and tried other belts, and they helped some, but they didn't provide enough support for me. With this belt, though, I've been able to push harder with deadlifts and squats, as well as set a new deadlift PR, substantially heavier than my previous PR, within two weeks of training with the new belt. The belt itself is interesting, relatively thin but sturdy, and it provides great support. I really like what I've seen of the company, too; they seem like good people, and they provide excellent customer service. I did not require as much assistance as some of the other reviewers, for whom Fire Team Fit went the extra mile to provide service, but they were very prompt in responding to my questions and offering help if I did need it. I would absolutely recommend the belt as well as the company to anyone looking for a good, cost-effective weightlifting belt.

Great Product still
I've bought these belts before and love this company. My only complaint on this one is that whoever finished it or packaged it slit it in two places with a box cutter. I bought the American flag belt and there are two very fine slices down the backside straight to the padding. Just disappointed is all. Belt is still good for work.

Yes this is a great belt for the price
Yes this is a great belt for the price. Adjustable waist allows you to get a really tight fit when you need it Thicker in back and shorter in front makes it very comfortable when doing any kind of movement involving a squat press.Definitely recommend
