my wife has taken tomato extract capsules for a long time. her usual make discontinued and these are a very good substitute. no problems.

I started taking this product after reading scientific research confirming the benefits of lycopene (a chemical in tomatoes) with regard to heart health. I particularly like the FutureYou brand because their products are always readily bio available (easily absorbed by the body). I have since noticed that this product is cheaper on the company's own website.

At 70p per capsule these are not cheap supplements. I like that there are a few heart-healthy ingredients, including a source of lycopene as the main ingredient. For 7mg of lycopene per capsule, these are quite a bit more expensive than the many other lycopene supplements I have taken over the years. But, the lycopene in this supplement is combined with whey protein to make it more bioavailable than with other supplements. Unfortunately this isn't a supplement that you will feel or notice working, so you do have to trust the science behind lycopene and assume that it does what it is meant to do. Personally I don't think I will purchase more of this product due to this price, but if it were half the cost, I would then stock up and make this my main source of lycopene.

Whenever I'm reviewing a health supplement like this one I try to get through as much of the packet as I can to see if any benefits are evident before writing a review. Mostly, I don't notice any difference in the short term, with the exception of a few supplements designed to increase concentration etc, and occasionally an upset stomach that persuades me to stop taking things. These heart health capsules are one of many vitamin supplements that have no obvious impact in either direction, but which I'd be happy to continue taking if I wanted some reassurance that I was doing the right things for heart health. The packaging is clear and informative, the capsules are easy to swallow and not too big, and the foil blister packs are labelled per day, which makes it easy to see if you forgot to take one. I can't say for sure that they help, but I've seen no unwelcome side effects and am happy to continue taking them.

I feel unusually positive about tomatoes. I come from a market gardening family and we grew tomatoes in the glasshouses. When I was a child, barely a day went by when I didn't consume several tomatoes straight off the vine. And very good they tasted too. So I'm easily convinced that tomatoes - and the lycopene they include - may have benefits for heart health. After all, the widely lauded healthy Mediterranean diet has tomatoes at its centre. Now, I do - it goes without saying - still love tomatoes, though it gets harder to find ones that are flavourful. But however many tomatoes I eat, I'm never going to get through the lycopene content of a whole kilogram of cooked tomatoes that's present in each of the one-a-day easy to swallow capsules in this pack of 28. Over £12 million spent on R&D? That's persuasive. Great to have the opportunity to try this supplement, it could be one to add to my health arsenal.

i cannot see pills like this working, perhaps one needs to be on them for 3 months or more, i think if someone needs some form of vitamins and minerals you need to get it out of a healthy diet.... ive been on them 2 months....i wont bother again....
