Best sata SSD for ₹2049/-, but there are some things you must know..
Speed: The speed is as expected and can be used as an external SSD with an enclosure. These are the peak read and write speeds, but in practical usage, speeds rarely match these numbers. During data transfer, I achieved around 470 MB/s write and 510 MB/s read speeds, which is very good. Remember, sata ssds don't go above these speeds, the SATA interface itself is limited in its data transfer capabilities. I purchased this SSD for additional storage for my PC, as I don’t have an extra M.2 slot. It can be used for gaming and performs well, though it’s slightly slower than an NVMe SSD. However, the difference is hardly noticeable during regular use or gaming. If you’re building a new PC, opting for an M.2 NVMe SSD would be better. While slightly more expensive, it’s worth the extra cost for the added performance. For older systems, though, this SSD is a great choice for upgrading storage and improving performance. Compatibility: This SSD is widely compatible with all systems and laptops. Simply connect the cables, and it’s ready to use. If it doesn’t appear in File Explorer, don't worry. Just go to Disk Management, create a new volume from the unallocated space, and format it. Durability: With a 120TBW rating, the SSD can write up to 120 terabytes of data. Durability depends on usage. Heavy write operations- like exporting a large video- will degrade it faster, while light use—like storing a few games—primarily involves read operations, causing minimal wear and extending its lifespan. Price: I managed to get this SSD for ₹2,049 during a sale with a ₹250 coupon, which I consider a lucky deal. If you find it priced around ₹2,199, it's still worth considering. However, if the price is higher, I recommend waiting for discounts, as the price often drops.

Highly recommended! Bought for ₹1,250 2.5 years ago – worth every paisa.
I bought this Crucial BX500 240GB SSD exactly 2.5 years ago for just ₹1,250 – one of the best budget purchases I’ve ever made. From day one it completely transformed my old PC. Boot time dropped from 1–2 minutes to under 15 seconds, apps open instantly, and even heavy multitasking feels smooth now. No lag, no freezes, nothing. I use it as my main OS drive + a few games and daily software, and it’s been absolutely flawless. After 2.5 years of daily use (shutdowns, restarts, heavy file transfers, Windows updates, etc.), the performance is still exactly the same as day one. No slowdown, no weird noises, no errors in CrystalDiskInfo – health is still 100%. Build quality feels solid, and the fact that it’s been this reliable at such a low price is insane. Yes, right now the prices have gone crazy high (1TB models are ₹15k+), but the moment they drop again I’m definitely grabbing a 1TB version without thinking twice. For anyone looking for a trustworthy, no-nonsense budget SATA SSD that punches way above its price – the Crucial BX500 is still one of the best choices in 2026.

2014 Laptop became superfast
I recently upgraded my laptop with this SSD, and the difference is incredible. Boot times have been reduced to just a few seconds, and photoshp lightroom and browser programs that used to take forever to load now launch almost instantly. The installation was straightforward, and my laptop now feels brand new despite being a few years old. The build quality seems solid, and it's surprisingly lightweight. I also noticed an improvement in battery life, likely because the SSD is much more energy-efficient than my old HDD. Overall, if you're looking for a cost-effective way to breathe new life into your computer, I highly recommend this SSD. It's worth every penny! Pros: Super fast speed Easy to install Improved battery life Affordable price for the performance Cons: No included installation tools, but manageable if you have the right screwdriver.

Great Budget Boot & Storage Drive — But Not For Heavy Use
Comfort: • 👍 Pros: • Fast boot‑up and general responsiveness—superior to any HDD for daily tasks and light apps. • Sequential speeds around 550 MB/s read and 500 MB/s write—comparable to mid‑range SATA drives . • Affordable at ~₹3,300–4,200 locally, offering solid value per GB (). • 👎 Cons: • DRAM‑less architecture means slower 4K random and sustained writes—can dip below HDD speeds during heavy transfers . • Overheats under continuous write load—controller throttles down to ~60 °C, slashing write speeds . • Minimal endurance—rated at ~120 TBW, lower than MX500 or competing drives . • Plastic casing is less durable than metal alternatives.

Most Reliable SSD in Low-Budget Segment
I researched a lot before buying it and came to the conclusion that if you want to buy a trustworthy and fastest SSD at a low price, there is no match to Crucial BX500. It’s the only brand in low budget that you can trust upon in terms of quality, performance and warranty-service. It’s very lightweight and sleek but it’s presence is significant in your system’s performance. Apart from its storage capability, it reduces your pc’s boot time and enhances the overall performance if you install your operating system in it. I have an 2007’s pentium dual core desktop pc with 2gb of ram and no sata-3 port. I installed this ssd in sata-2 port, but still my pc is so much faster than before. Earlier, when windows 10 was installed in my hard-disk, my pc used to hang a lot and couldn’t run the browser or anything. But now, even with half a speed from Sata-2 port, this ssd runs my pc like it’s new. There is no lag or delay in any process. Even the data transfer speed is consistent and better than that of a hard disk. Now, imagine installing it into Sata-3 port, your pc will be drastically fast. I recommend people with old pc’s to just go for an ssd and upgrade your ram a little instead of rebuilding your motherboard and cpu. An ssd alongwith 2gb-3gb of DDR2 ram will be enough for normal operations in Windows 10 64-bit pc. I’m just loving to use my 15 years old pc because of this ssd. Crucial-Micron is the only one that offers a reliable nand-3D SSD at this price point. I chose it over WD, Adata, Gigabyte, Kingston because WD is a lot expensive and other brands were a Rs.100-300 costlier or cheaper but not as reliable as Crucial. Its read and write speed is also better than its competitors in this price range. Upgrading to an SSD will be beneficial for any user, be it a gamer or someone who just want to speed up his pc. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the purchase. The quality and utility factor of this product in such a good price is amazing. Don’t think twice. Just go for it!
