The material is thin and not stretchy. My only worry was the stitching coming undone but it held. Now, as far as wearing anything underneath it, be best to wear sports briefs or go cammando. Not much room for anything else. And your package does show if you know what I mean. But that's what makes this outfit even funnier. I bought this for my brothers 40th birthday party, 70s theme. It was a hit.
