The best way to measure tiny amounts is by using a 1 ml babies' medicine dosing syringe as these can be used to measure hundredths of a ml. **Q: How difficult would it be to treat a 40l tank, given the small dosages for larger tanks?** A: The water conditioner should be used to treat the entire tank when first filling, then to treat only the new water added at a water change unless refilling with a hosepipe. It should never be overdosed as everything we add to a tank ends up inside the fish. Filling a 40 litre tank for the first time needs 0.5 ml. For 50% water changes, ie 20 litres, it needs 0.25 ml added to the new water before putting it in the tank. If using a bucket, the amount needed to treat the volume of water in the bucket should be added to each bucket of water.
