But these pads are designed in such a way that it would be exceedingly easy to slip the current strap out and insert a longer piece. Also, these are not really heavy duty. If you work outside construction and crawl around on rough surfaces all day, they might not hold up very long. I only gave 4 stars because the lining in one of the knee pads started coming off shortly after using the pads. But for comfort and cushioning for your knees, these pads are great. I gave them a real workout last week while staining my decent size deck, (i.e., on my knees for quite a while) any the knee pads were terrific! I have other knee pads I started using, but then switched to these new pads and WOW what a difference in the knee protection, these Fiskars pads offer great knee protection. I'd advise wearing long pants though as the elastic behind the back of your knee on bear skin will not feel very good. If used for gardening, and you do wear shorts, then I'd suggest putting a folded piece of paper towel between your skin and the elastic, that may look funny, but it sure helps! At any rate, besides the lining coming off on one pad already 🙁, I'm very happy with my purchase and would buy again.
