My first was last summer, and this is the second within two weeks. I just bought the original after owning the Logitech G500 for maybe 6 months. The G500 is nice because of the lack of gloss anywhere on the mouse, so finger smudges don't stick around.BUT the left and right click of the G500 were noisy and hard on the finger. Perhaps it's just me, but seriously felt finger fatigue at the end of my gaming sessions. It's because of that that I decided to go back to the DeathAdder. Forgive me, Razer, for leaving you.This DeathAdder is just like the original in terms of shape, button control, and side gloss. The thing that's different is the top. The pictures are a little deceiving, I thought the top was like that of the G500 or the Logitech Performance MX (paper feel to it, which I like) but it's just as glossy, shiny and smooth as the sides of the DeathAdders.Now to my review stars. I give 4, and question 4 and a 1/2 because this comes down to preference of Gaming on the Go. I really hope it's not Razer trying to cut corners, but the mouse feet are WAY to thin. Picture a stack of 5 sheets of post-its vs 1 sheets (Sorry, only analogy i can think of). It's possible it's meant to improve tracking for different surfaces of mouse pads, but playing with no mouse pad feels awful. I moved my mouse in a circle to make sure my laptop recognized it and there's scratches to the left of the sensor (pinky side). Not terrible, but the mouse doesn't glide like my first DeathAdder from the summer. I will say though that perhaps I got a slightly warped mold for this mouse so I'm not going to hold that against Razer, but I will shed a tear for the smaller mouse feet. I'm sure that if it was as large and bulbous as the original, this would have got that extra half a star.Again, this product loses a star for the choice of texture for top of the mouse.The drivers install no problem, but it takes a LOT more tinkering with the settings on my mac to make it comfortable to use. For reference, using on Windows was a piece of cake for me and I didn't even have to mess with any settings because I kept the default for both system mouse settings and the DeathAdder settings.Edit: Something I forgot to mention was the braided cord. If you haven't already seen any other DeathAdder 3500dpi, then I'll tell you that the cord is superb. My problem with the G500 was that the braided cord was not as tightly woven as the DeathAdder, so there were bends in the cord that I could not for the life of me get straight. This DeathAdder (as well as any other mouse cord belonging to the Razer mouse) can bend and move nicely. So in my case of buying a second DeathAdder for gaming on the go, storage is no hassle.
