It allowed me to offer a cheaper and easier solution for my media production clients over a much more complex and expensive competing product, making me happy and saving my clients a big chunk of money....Win-Win!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very simplistic overview *by D***T on August 5, 2020* Very basic, I was hoping for some deeper CLI understanding for the switches which were very much just a footnote. Most of the book we spent on OSI model and very basic networking introduction. A little routing, firewall, and vpn was discussed. Probably more apt to be titled "Unauthorized overview of edgerouter/edgeswitch" as it had absolutely nothing on the Unifi controller series, or the UNMS controller. Maybe when this was written the UNMS wasn't available.You can pretty much start from 0 knowledge and set up some basic stuff with what this book covers at least on the basic Ubiquiti Edgemax products. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A must have book for configuring Ubiquiti router and basic understanding of routing/switching *by A***R on June 27, 2019* For those who wants to obtain a basic understanding of network, this is a great book to start out with. If user has ubiquiti deivces that will be a plus. After reading this book, I was able to configure the my ubiquiti router and my cisco/ubiquiti switch (I have 2 switches) with the knowledge of OSPF, Vlan, trunking, firewall setup, NAT, port configuration and more! I've a home/small office setup which I have 3 VLans with 3 separate networks I was able to allow my guests to access internet via my AP and guests cannot access my home network. I was able to link up from my home to my work place via vpn setup in the router. I've also configured the setup with my Synology NAS along with my home surveillance IP cameras on Ubiquiti switch (POE). I will be waiting for vol 2 which I believe it will have more information pertaining to Ubiquiti switch setup. I am able to setup some basic firewall rules from routers to the internet and limited access between the vlans as well.
