Review: Great froe, Well built, and will make you appreciate buying shingles. - I split hundreds of shingles with this already and it is a really durable unit with a proper splitting grind on the business end. Handle is tapered and long enough to swing the mallet into it to split logs. Great purchase if you know it's intended use.
Review: Well Made Aggressive Froe - I just recieved two days after placing the order. Big thumbs up! After careful inspection of both the blade and handle, I find the blade very stout with an agressive angle on the edge. The edge has the proper sharpness for splitting. The weld on the handle ring is very well done. The handle was turned from exceptionally straight wood and should last a very long time. They provide a hole in the handle ring to use a screw for additional security of the handle...if this product is used correctly this is unnecessary. However, if you choose to use the the screw provided, you MUST pre drill the hole to the diameter of the screw shaft and it is advisable to place a small dab of soap on the screw threads before inserting screw in hole. This is VERY hard wood and you are apt to snap the screw if you don’t. I believe I will be using this froe for a very long time!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Where is this made?**
A: Not sure, I used when in the Philippines, I assume China. It worked fine, but I had to constantly sharpen it as it would not hold a sharp edge splitting hard wood.

**Q: What type of grind (convex, hollow, etc.) is the bevel/edge?**
A: Came as a flat bevel but resharpened as a convex. Just preference really; it was usable right out of the box.

**Q: This is 2 (eye and blade) pieces "welded" together? This is not one piece bent and heat treated to make the handle eye?**
A: Yes it is welded, the eye and the blade.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems to be made well, I think the higher ...
*by J***M on January 30, 2017*

Seems to be made well, I think the higher priced ones would appear much more authentic, it that's important to you. I bought this to spilt kindling and small logs when trying to use an axe is overkill but a hatchet is too small. Some sort of holding device for the wood is very handy, that or a third hand!
