The popcorn is grown on Bjorn's family farm in MN as well as partner farms in NY local to their production facility in Kerhonkson. During a historic session of catch in New York's central park, their collaboration was set into motion. Now the two make a cult favorite popcorn and research and experiment with solar power uses in any and every way they can. Homegrown Popcorn Know what you grow An important part of our mission is to be hands-on with the popcorn even before the kernel is planted. We buy the seeds and decide where they grow and assume the risk if they don't. We take what is harvested, learn and improve ways to dry it and clean it. Being this involved from the beginning allows us to keep high standards and pass them along to you. In 2020 we grew 50% of what we pop on Bjorn's family farm in Minnesota. This farm has been in his family since the 1870's when his Norwegian ancestors settled there to start a new life. The remainder of the popcorn is grown on our partner farms near our facility in the Hudson Valley of New York State. Kelder's Farm in Kerhonkson, NY has been growing popcorn for us for six years and is also where we originally started our business in a small concession trailer next to a couple giant solar cookers. We also partner with Hudson Valley Farm Hub in Hurley, NY which grows organic popcorn for us with regenerative farming practices.
