## Description

MTech Boot Knife. 9.125" Overall. 4.75" 440 stainless double edge dagger blade. Full tang. Black pakkawood handles. Lanyard hole. Black nylon belt sheath. Fixed Blade Knife Type: Boot/Neck Made in China.

Review: Great knife - Great knife at this price point. Very sharp point with a double edge blade. Knife also looks good and feels good in the hand. Sheath is not leather but is adequate. I mean you can't expect a fancy leather sheath for this price. It has a belt loop to attach rather than a clip. I have a Smith & Wesson H.R.T. knife that came with a nice leather sheath but it has a clip and I hate it. I'll use this sheath to also carry the Smith since they're the same size.
Review: Much better knife than I expected! - Okay lets clear the table right off, Yes this is not a "collector grade" knife. Now that this issue has been addressed, I recieved my MTech MT-20-03 today and after all the bad reviews I read I was really ready for a piece of $#!T , This was NOT the case! This 13.00 dollar ( and let keep that price in mind through out this review ) Knife turned out to be a really nice add to my collection! So the cons: The Sheath is a low 3 out of 4 stars. The stitching is single run through out the nylon. The Sheath's button knife locking restraint is without a stiff backing ( which would be nice ) And only one spot appears to be uneven where the tang meets the bolsters on the blade side, HOWEVER! a quick 1 min grind on the old Dermel tool fixed that. The Stainless polished up pretty nicely with the Dremal buffing wheel and some Frizt polish. aside from that , the knife is pretty darn cool! The handle seems to be made of some form of wood and has a really good feeling in the hand ( a nice slight palm swell ) The brass pins were tight and finished off nicely. The fit and finish not too bad! ( at least on the one I got ) The Blade is not razor sharp but definitely sharp enough to do what this knife was designed to do! The Blade is a full tang and quite strong. From what I have read in the past I think MTech has been improving on this knife because what Ive read on the bad stuff about this knife, is not what I'm seeing. Remember folk $13.00 not $200.00. To sum it up ... It's a wonderful product, You can't go wrong with this knife.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: type of metal?**
A: The double edged blade is 440 stainless steel. It is full tang with brass pinned wood handles. It has a nice weight and feel to it. I highly recommend this knife.

**Q: Is this legal in Texas**
A: Blades over 5.5 inches are “location restricted” in Texas. This blade would be legal to carry in Texas, even in the restricted locations.

**Q: Is there a boot clip on sheath?**
A: No. There is no boot clip. It's just a regular sheath. For the belt only.

**Q: Can you throw it without it breaking?**
A: You can throw any knife with proper training and practice but this knife wasn't designed for it. However it does throw nicely and will not break if you hit your target correctly. If you miss or hit indirectly it will break the handle or tip very easily but those can easily be fixed or made even better. As far as the cold steel recommendation I certainly wouldn't go that route but to each their own.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing for the price? I think so but YOU decide
*by T***M on May 31, 2020*

Reviewing a knife like this can feel very difficult to do. The reasoning behind this difficulty is the fact that this knife was only $16 at the time of purchase. This is such a low price (and not a mora either) that they could have sent me a piece of unfiled metal sticking out of a handle and I could not really complain. So rather than “reviewing” it I will give my best description of the blade I received and let you discern whether or not you believe it is worth the money. I personally have 0 complaints, however if I payed approx $10 more I would be mildly upset with the issues in manufacturing this knife received. Let’s start out with blade sharpness: the blade comes sharpened out of the box. Although it’s not “razor” sharp like my moras are out of the box it is still deadly and not to be used as a toy. It won’t glide perfectly through a piece of paper but with a small amount of force it still sliced the paper cleanly. It could be sharper, I will have to take this thing to a grindstone then a whetstone and report back. Next thing I would like to address is the grind on the knife. This knife (at this price) can be assumed to be machine milled/ground rather than hand ground. My knife has the exact same grind defect I’ve seen in youtube reviews for the knife. The burr on the knife is not perfectly straight, it curves to the right and ends approx 1.5mm from the true sharpened point of the blade. In terms of functionality this has little effect as this knife is designed purely to stab things, not slice. The handle: the handle itself feels very good in the hand. It uses 2 real wooden plates that are held to the full tang of the blade with setting pins commonly found in older pocketknives and chef’s knifes. The handle itself feels high quality and sturdy in the hand, however closer inspection reveales that the tang of the knife sticks out about 0.5mm out from the wood plates all the way around the handle. This doesn’t bother me but a knife collector may want to grind down around the outside of the tang then polish it. This would level the tang with the wooden handle. Weight: this is a hearty n hefty little knife. It has a very good weight in the hand for the size of the knife. You won’t forget that this is on your persons however it remains light enough to not be a bother when sheathing and unsheathe. Would not make a good throwing weapon as the balance is way off from center of knife to the blade tip. Sheath: the sheath is just a crappy “tactical” sheath. I would have preferred a poly sheath like the ones that come with a Mora as this one catches the blade when quickly sheathing the knife. I tend to carry it without using the blade strap because it sits in there firmly enough to not fall out against the tension. I find I am able to deploy the knife in under a second when carrying this way. If I was doing physical activity such as running I would recommend strapping the knife into the sheath. This will drastically reduce your draw time. I prefer the “click in and snug” type of sheaths offered by Morakniv the most as they do not hold moisture and are extremely easy to deploy yet remain sturdy when running. The sheath that comes with this knife is belt loop only. Hope this review helps!
