You can opt for a one inch section of hair or more. The bigger the barrel of the brush, the more hair you can wrap around it. If it's a smaller barrel you can't wrap a big section of hair. For me personally if you are in doubt go smaller. I actually have multiple sizes of round barrel brushes if I want to make tight waves or not. If you are mainly just folding your hair under and then straightening with a flat iron, opt for a bigger barrel. **Q: How do you use it?
