The wing nuts are large enough that you can get them tight without any tools. It leaves your phone screen wide open to see for music, navigation or even using the phone for a call. I don't use the optional rubber sling because the spring loaded support is strong enough without it. It's about time somebody made one specifically for Harleys that didn't clamp to the handlebars and get in the way.
