I was not really impressed with it's receive or transmit and had hoped this might make a difference. Well, I'm impressed. After installing, I noticed immediate improvement in receive. Transmit seems much better although I haven't had any QSOs using this antenna just yet. But I gotta say the receive is so much better, even on air band. The ability to fold it is nice since it is long; you can still receive when folded but performance is much better unfolded. I strapped the included velcro to the antenna unfolded, so that it will always be there when I do want to fold it. Review: It does NOT work! - I thought this would extend the transmit and receive range on my Baofeng HT. The build quality is crummy. The O ring fell off as soon as I took it out of the package. And the rubber cap fell off the tip as well. But THE WORST thing is that this doesn't even work as an antenna! No reception, no transmit PERIOD. I couldn't understand why I was not getting reception from a local Repeater just 3 miles away. I was able to tune it on my Kenwood HT. I thought maybe the Baofeng radio wasn't working right and would have to return it. On a whim I took the ultra cheap rubber duck antenna out of the box and swapped it on my HT. PERFECT Reception and good transmit. FROM THE CHEAP ANTENNA that came with the Baofeng radio. I tossed this antenna in the trash. Total waste of money. The only thing it was good for was chasing my cats away from the dinner table. Utter junk. AVOID! ## Features - Tactical Antenna 136-174/400-520Mhz Compatible with Radtel Rt-490 Rt-68 Rt-4b Rt-830 Rt-850 Rt-890 Rt-470 RT-470L Rt-420 8800 Plus UV9D AR-869 jc-8629 and more - SMA Female, Length 18 inch , Weight: 45g Connector: SMA Female, Model number RHD771-3 - The tactical antenna is foldable.
