Are the spikes sharp enough?** A: The spikes are not strong enough. I used them to decorate a cat scratcher and the part ldecorated was pleather and heavy cardboard. The spikes were more like thin aluminum. I ended up cutting the spikes off and gluing them on. So no l would not recommend them for wood. **Q: are these strong enough to puncture a tire?** A: There's no way this tiny little thing could puncture a tire......Its hard enough to get it through a piece of fabric with out those tiny little prongs bending.....so I would seriously doubt them puncturing a tire..... **Q: Where are Newless products manufactured?** A: I think so **Q: do these stars come with backings?
