If you see what looks like sloughing Put a very small amount of water in your hand and rub the area that is producing this stuff. If it turns into a lotion then it’s the product coming off. If it still has the little bits like skin then yes it is sloughing. As far as I can tell it’s not supposed to slough like that And if you were seeing it as the lotion using my suggestion then you might want to use less product because you’re supposed to rub it in and leave it, it should not leave any sort of residue on there it might feel a little bit tacky but otherwise you should not knows that it’s on you only need to use a very small amount **Q: Has anyone used to this on a tattoo? Is it safe to do so?** A: I don't recommend using it for a tattoo. The ingredients work to help exfoliate skin, which is not something you want on a new tattoo. I start with a small amount--you can always add more. I have kp and the kind of flaky dry skin expected on a 60+ person who has been out in the sun too much. I usually apply it at night, and during the day if I really don't have to be somewhere. Apply it everywhere you want exfoliation, with more on really rough spots. A couple of hours after it soaks in, when you pass your hand over your arm, for example, little rolls of skin will roll off. If you don't have time to shower, take a dry towel and rub all that flaky skin off. If you put it on before bed, rub or shower it off when you get up in the morning. I then put on a lighter lotion for day wear. You'll really start to see a difference after a few days. It does sting if you put it on over any scratches or cuts, but that stops after a few minutes. This is the best chemical exfoliant for the body I've ever used.
