Trimmer started right up after replacing the carb and spark plug. I did not replace fuel filter because it had ran real well, but after using trimmer for about 10 minutes it started to bog down again. Note that if your trimmer is not running well, it could be the old pieces of degrading hose. I found lots of little yellow plastic bits from the old tubing.
