Product description 2001 Classical - Light Tension La Bella Has Over 400 Years of String Making Experience The tradition of string making dates back to the 1640s in Salle, Italy, where the Mari family supplied gut strings to the famous violin builders of Cremona. In 1913, brothers Olinto & Emilio Mari arrived in New York bringing their family craft to the States. Over the years, the brothers shaped the landscape of the string industry with their innovative designs. Every set is manufactured using a perfect combination of traditional methods and latest technologies to produce a superior string. 2001 Light Tension strings are designed and recommended for older and more delicate instruments. A: It's a set, E A D G B E.

**Q: theses strings come in sealed packet?**
A: Yes, the packet is sealed with a thick plastic cover.  When you open the packet, the strings are individually in the traditional paper envelopes.

**Q: Do these strings have a ball on the end for stringing or do they need to be tied?**
A: The ball end of the strings go on the bottom below the sound hole. You thread your string through those holes until the ball stops the string from passing through.  No need to make any ties.

**Q: Do these strings have ball ends?**
A: Tie end.  Classical strings are the opposite of electric: assume they do not have ball ends unless it specifically states they do.

These are the best strings I have tried. Replaced $30 Suarez strings on a new Cordoba fusion guitar with these and playability and sound were much improved. Worth a try if you play classical music.
