I wear the watch for work with a suit I wanted it to look a bit smarter than it does with the rubber strap and less like a sports watch. The strap in well engineered, and the slate grey colouring is a perfect match for the bezel on the Fenix 5 (non sapphire version). The strap comes up very large, and I had to remove five links with a watch link pin remover tool. Without this I'd have been making a trip to a local jewellers. The watch strap comes without instructions so I had to employ a best guess method to removing the pins and barrels. Should you have to remove links look on the back of the strap for the directional arrows and push the links out of the strap IN THE DIRECTION OF THE ARROWS. When you've done this you will need to reassemble, make sure the barrel pin is retained within the centre link, otherwise you'll get no tension when you reinsert the pin! If in doubt take it to a local watch shop and pay the small fee to do the job as it took me about 30 mins to complete, likely as they are experts that they will do it in 5 mins! Overall I'm very happy with the fit, colour match and construction of the strap. I do think it's overpriced even at desertcarts offer price but it certainly makes the watch look more akin to its value. I'll be switching back to the rubber strap for events as it will be lighter and jog about less on the wrist. The quick release clasps means you can change over the strap in less than 10 seconds. Review: Quality strap at a good price - I brought this as a replacement strap for my Fenix 5 watch. The previous straps holder broke so I couldn’t keep the strap tidy when I wore it. I have looked around for a while at the cheaper non genuine Garmin straps but I came to the conclusion that I have a watch that costs a lot of money so why am I trying to save money on a strap I'll wear everyday, especially when the cheaper ones have a flaw where the clip to the watch can become undone without realising it. The black strap goes really well with the Fenix 5 and The build quality is top notch. The strap came with two torque screwdrivers which was a nice surprise and taking the old strap off and clicking the new one on took less than 20 seconds. The strap feels nice and comfortable and it’s great for working out. I don’t get any rash or it becoming uncomfortable when I wear it. Based on my past experience I can see this strap lasting an easy two years plus. The strap will fit a quick release Garmin 5 watch of 22mm width and will not fit the Garmin 5s or 5x. It turned up the next day, fits my Garmin Forerunner 935 perfectly (and obviously the quick release attachments also) and seems sturdy enough. I changed to this quick release band so I can use the watch for triathlon, moving the watch itself from wrist to bike to wrist without any fuss and it seems to do the job well. It's my permanent watch strap now. Feels soft and comfortable enough when wearing it, maybe not as soft as original bands ( I bought tri bundle 935 with 2 bands) that came with watch for some strnge reason considering this is supposed to be a Garmin product also, but overall I have no complaints on comfort. Only reason(s) I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 (did think about giving it 3 stars for these reasons) was 1. It's advertised as "flame red", which to me would be a bright, bold red. It's not a bright, bold red. It's more like your old red T-shirt that you've had for a while and is a wee bit washed out now, but you still like it. And 2. When it arrived the box seemed to me as though it had been opened previously, like it may have been a return and was now sent to me. I even checked the strap against the straps on the Garmin web site. Admittedly they look the same and in fairness there were no marks on the strap itself to indicate it had been used before but the previously opened appearance of the box took the shine off the purchase. Overall I'm happy enough with the strap,but like most of the other reviewers I think the price is ridiculous.
