Review: Highly Recommended Artist Watercolor ! - I read few reviews about this brand and decided to give it a try. Indeed its very satisfying and brings a big smile to my face every time I paint and use it. The one I ordered is 36 pan which comes in sturdy white palette and large mixing areas. Each pan is 2.5ml/full pan and the palette can fit a big brush (brush is not included). I use many different watercolor brands, so this definitely can keep me for quite some time although I still find an excuse to use it every time :) The palette is perfect fit when I'm travelling. Watercolor has very strong pigmentation, easy to rewet, good transparancy and glide smoothly on the paper. In my painting, I don't do lots of mixing/max 2 colors and I found no issues, such as muddy paint. Now I'm thinking of my student grade Winsor & Newton 45 half pan which I bought as my first watercolor paint. Although I'm a beginner, after I got the St Petersburg watercolor, I realised that artist quality does make difference to my paintings. It's not really nice to say, but I should have purchased St Petersburg in the first hand if I knew earlier rather than buying student grade which has lower quality in vibrancy and difficulty to rewet the paints. Having said that, this is just my own opinion and experience. It may not necessarily fit to your circumstance/consideration, such as budget to spend, the amount of time you paint, and how passionate you are about watercolor. After all, buying artist watercolor doesnt come in cheap price tags and it's an investment decision. St Petersburg paint, however is pretty affordable, and really a good value for your money to get artist quality paint. Hope my reviews can share some info to everyone on purchasing watercolor. Happy painting all..^^ Lola JF
Review: Best paints around at any price - I got these as a warm-up set and put them away, thinking at this price they couldn't really be all that good. Yes. They. Are. After working with Daniel Smith and other high end paints, I got them out just to use them up and have a travel case. I had to make several swatch pages to see if I was really seeing the quality I thought I was seeing. I was! And there are colors here that aren't usually found in sets in this price range. Some reviewers have remarked about the lightfastness, but I'm seeing the same rankings on the wrappers as I find in other, much more expensive, sets. The best part is that there are only a few that are made with more than one pigment, making them very easy to mix without getting mud. I do like Daniel Smith because of the granulation, but most of the earth tones here also granulate. Confession time. I have TWO of these sets, and yet my fingers are itching to buy a third, even though I don't need one. I did topple one set on the floor and had the pans scatter everywhere. That turned out to be a good thing. It showed me just how densely pigmented these are because I couldn't tell the colors apart without swatching (the darker the paint in the pan, the denser the pigmentation). Unlike Holbein, which uses many different pigments in most of their colors, as well as white, these give a very crisp, fresh color and are fabulous for layering while maintaining transparency. he scattered pans also gave me a chance to write the color name on each pan before putting them back in the palette and securing each one with a small piece of rolled painters tape. I can remove one without them all pulling up. Don't be fooled by the price. These are excellent.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is replacement of individual pan available for purchase if one runs out faster than the other?**
A: I Started using these watercolors from College in 1973 and still use them. BFA and MFA. I have found nothing better out there. used original palette pan until 1993 and had to replace it. Dropped it one time to many. Have replaced each pan and use the empties to hold some custom Colors for future use. like Flesh tones. got an empty Palette to hold them. They went with me were ever I went in the Navy for 24 years They went with me seven time around the world. I would recommend to any one. even beginners. My Granddaughter just started painting so she will be getting a set of these for Christmas.

**Q: Is this product by the same manufacturer as Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors? Are these the moist pans? Thanks!**
A: We, 4-art seller are located in St.Petersburg, Russia. We get a direct supply from Nevskaya Palitra Manufacture, including this 36 pieces set. Which means all our products are authentic, Russian, NOT Yarka watercolours. As we know Yarka has a license for this paints but as you see from many reviews on Yarka products - they're not exactly the same comparing to the original Nevskaya Palitra paints.

**Q: Are the color single pigment colors or mixed pigment colors?**
A: Depending on the "color" someone them are single pigment colors and some are 2 or 3. I don't know exactly which colors are single, double etc. pigments. You can look at the pictures provided and the color, pigment etc. info is on the wrapper and you can see for yourself and which best suits your needs. Hope that helps

**Q: Any suggestions as to how to keep the individual pans from moving about in the pallet so that I can travel with this set?**
A: Palette piece (the bottom piece in the picture) should hold them in place. You can also put double-side sticky tape on the bottom of pallet to secure pans more permanently.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best value in artist quality watercolors
*by A***N on June 21, 2020*

I'm so happy with my choice of White Nights 36 full pans! These paints are luscious. Pans are full and they re-wet easily. Lightfast ratings are accurate in my independent tests. It's fairly easy to tell if watercolors have been augmented with cheap dye to bring out color, and these have not. Colors are true and absolutely beautiful. I really like the removable second mixing tray, as that makes it easy to clean. As I would do for any other brand, I added some double-face tape beneath the pans to keep them in place during travel. When you get deeper into the world of watercolor, you'll inevitably start switching out colors from a pre-made set and replacing them with certain paints you like better. I replaced one fugitive color and one super opaque color with different individual pans of White Nights I purchased elsewhere. Other than that, I'm completely happy with 34 of the 36 included pans. I've tried so many brands of watercolor and consider White Nights my go-to. Prang isn't vibrant. Koi is too chalky. Winsor & Newton do not re-wet easily and are susceptible to caking in pans. Daniel Smith is amazing and has such an extensive range, but they're considerably more expensive. I like Mei LIang Pretty Excellent very much for planning and art journaling, but you can't buy individual pans to replenish your favorites. White Nights beats them all!
