It replaced a 22 year old Big Boss water softener that finally quit. After much research on saltless and salt softeners, I decided to go with AquaSure. I already had a softener installed, so the set up was easy! The old softener had 3/4" lines, I bought 20" stainless steel water softener hoses from Lowe's that were 3/4" one end, 1" on the other. One hose was too short, so I purchased a 3/4" x 6" brass nipple to extend the length. The installation manual was well written, very detailed and easy to understand. The only missing detail was to place the white cap BACK on the internal tube. After four days, the gallon counter was still not counting down. I called AquaSure, Diane had me send several photo's of the set up, the hoses and internal plumbing to the house etc. at 4:30 PM on a Friday,. Their Tech support called me back within an hour and walked me through the fact that there was one shut off valve in the house plumbing that I had left open. Essentially, the water was mixing together. She had me shut off the valve, flush the toilet and PERFECT! The toilet flush reduced the count from 1,000 gallons to 997 gallons. Their tech support was excellent! As for functionality? It runs perfectly, backwashes at 2:00 AM, uses SO much less salt and my hair is like silk. I love the digital screen and being able to see how much water I am using per chore just out of curiosity. Water test strips are before installation & after one week of usage. I am wondering how long it has been since my Water Boss really was not working well. I am very pleased with my educated decision.
