### ⭐⭐⭐

Unit lacks the resistor/tension module thing to keep float from bouncing around

*by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2015*

Looking at the first 2 pictures, the 1st one is the correct unit but the 2nd picture is different and the actual unit I received. Although it DOES work, it lacks the "resistance" module thing that keeps the float from bouncing around in the gas tank. There is no baffle area in the tank to keep the bouncing around to a minimum. So, it'll read 3/4 or 1/4 full depending on the amount of movement... it only reads the correct level if I'm still or flat. I would have preferred the 1st picture item as it more closely resembles the original sending unit. I spoke to Amazon Customer service and they tried to contact Spectra, to no avail. They asked me to contact them myself and determine what I need. If they have the correct one, I'll be in touch with Amazon again tomorrow to replace it. If Spectra doesn't have it, I guess I'll have return it and see if I can find another manufacture with the desired "resistance" thing. (I don't know what to call that!) I'm giving 3 stars as the unit does work and is of good quality and I I have to live with it, then so be it... it's just not what I want for my Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

    Avoid!

*by C***. on Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2016*

I recently installed this sender in my 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Reports of the gas gauge bouncing had me worried so I plugged it in before installing it in the tank, moved the float around and the needle didn't bounce, the gauge has an internal delay. Continued with installation. I thought all was well but then the issue reveled itself. Its not that needle bounces, its that the level is constantly moving. it will swing from 1/4 full to 3/4 full while driving. It moves slow but it makes it impossible to know how much fuel is really in the tank unless you're at a dead stop. BUT the main issue is that 1/4 tank = EMPTY TANK! I ran out of gas on the highway this morning because of this sender. I thought I still had a good 1/4+ tank. NOPE. I added 6 gallons and now it shows 1/2 full. a 20 gallon straight side tank should not show half full with 6 gallons. I the issue is the poor redesign from the original. they have the pivot for the float mounted too low on the pickup tube. Hopefully I can get Amazon to take this back.

Perfect replacement for 1988 Grand Wagoneer

*by K***. on Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2017*

Installed in a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, took 15 minutes and I have a working gauge again. Very steady and floats less than the one I removed. Very easy, very satisfied.
