I bought this because it straightened out his fingers and allowed him to exercise his hands in a way he wasn't able to do without the device. I think it must be the springs that make the difference. Anyway, he loved it so much, he showed his therapists and now they want to know where he got it. When I visit him, I like to use it too because it strengthens my hands for the piano. Does what it is supposed to, sometimes hard to put the finger cups over the fingers if contracture is severe. My husband is using this after a spinal cord injury and it has really helped open the fingers up. We have only had it about 3 days now and can tell a notable difference. Our OT says she thinks it is a good one so that is also a positive review. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I found the same splint for $61.99 without the additional items (which I don't feel are anywhere near worth an additional $20+) and really wish I would have looked further before ordering to save that additional money but we were desperate due to not getting any help from the doctor on ordering a splint through insurance.
