The replacement part was a direct fit and worked great! I bought extra just incase I needed to replace it again. I primarily use my mixer with a dough hook for bread dough of normal firmness, not too hard. The threads of this worm gear are too soft and will not work under normal operating conditions. The gears will slip with only a very soft dough and will completely strip the threads with anything close to what I would call a "normal" bread dough.
