I have a slatted garden bench , I gave it two coats top and bottom and still had an inch left in the bottom of the tin ..I think it’s 250 ml , doesn’t seem like a lot but it goes a long way. Of course it’s best suited for new smooth timber. On pure white pine it takes it down a couple of shades, just enough to have the right effect, it shows the grain beautifully . in warm weather it dries very quickly so you can give it two coats in a short space of time, leave s no oily residue. when it rains the water just runs off it , no water penetration. We bought it purposely for our new worktops. Infact the company we bought our worktops from suggest using it. You just have to let it dry for 48 hrs before food can come into contact with surface. Wouldn't use anything else now. **Q: what types of oils are used, and what percentage of each oil?** A: Rustins do not specify all the oils and resins in their Danish Oil. Only used it on Walnut and oak which it works great on. It just brings out the colour in the wood, darkens it ever so slightly on wood that hasn't been treated before but I would use it any wood. It might need a fresh coat yearly, but it’s so quick and easy to use that wouldn’t be a problem plus it’s cheap enough to buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the job *by J***N on 21 February 2017* This is good, it stinks a bit (not unbearable even with windows shut though) and it takes a few hours to dry so i do it in the evening before I go to bed as children &especially husband can't be trusted not to touch! it makes a nice colour and gives a lovely shine but I wouldn't say 'glossy' which in my humble opinion is a good thing -just the right amount of shine to show you look after it but aren't too keen ;-) It lasts well too as I couldn't be bothered to listen to the instructions to do new wood once a day for a week, once a week for a month and once a month onwards -I think I did it maybe 5 times?? Deffo do around your sink a good few times though!! It is very sticky though so deffo wear disposable gloves (because it is not coming off!!) &&it went on the white ceramic sink I've got since I'm not that careful and too lazy to put tape down but it came off with a metal scourer.
