How wide will the jaws open? thank you, gg** A: Sorry it took so long to reply, this is a really nice vise. To answer your question, it opens comfortably to 5 inches, but you can get it to 5 1/8. I wouldn't push it past that or the side alignment pieces may come out of their housings. Hope this helps!
