My son has muscular dystrophy and uses a power chair and a ceiling mounted hoyer lift. It is very difficult to get an accurate weight for him. I saw a similar version at the hospital so I searched on Amazon. Found this one and took a chance. It gave a very accurate weight and was very easy to use. It fit perfectly onto the Hoyer lift frame and we just raised him up and got the weight. We do have a portable hoyer lift as well for travel but did not try the scale on that one however it looks like it would work just as well. Easy directions, quick to learn, we have hooked it up to the sling for the hoyer lift or even the shifting pad. It does add some length to the lift so we cinch the scale strap up as much as possible where it wraps around the hoyer lift, and then lift her to clearing the bed. It measures so quickly my mother is up, measured and back down before you know it. A few seconds later she's unhooked from the scale, hooked up directly to the hoyer lift and ready to be transported somewhere else.
