My fear is once it starts to peel, it would continue until the smartphone slid out of the cover and landed on the ground. After it started to pull apart, I pulled gently some more, and yes, it easily pulled completely apart. I'm glad I found out on the first day of ownership and throw this cover away vs having to replace a new smartphone. When opened and magnetized to back gives perfect amount of bulk to hold phone secure while talking. Stands horizontally as advertised. Very well made, ads very little thickness to phone. Without a case the phone is so thin and "slick" due to metal housing, this is the perfect case for holding and using without worry of phone slipping from your hand. Totally worth the money.
