## Overview

The SAFAVIEH Natural Fiber Collection 8x10 area rug is a durable, handmade jute and cotton blend featuring a thick 3/4" pile for rich texture and warmth. Ideal for low-traffic indoor spaces, this eco-friendly rug offers unique natural fiber variations and easy care, making it a stylish, sustainable choice for modern living rooms and bedrooms.

## Description

The SAFAVIEH Natural Fiber 212 collection weaves undyed jute into a deep textured surface in bleach, a rustic coastal rug that brings warmth to a room without adding color. Each piece is hand-woven at a 3/4" pile, unusually substantial for a plant fiber and firm underfoot in a way no synthetic reproduces. Jute is dense and hard-wearing, but it is a flat weave: sweep rather than vacuum, keep it dry, and trim loose fiber with scissors. Natural Fiber 212 suits a living room, bedroom or dining room over wood or tile.

Review: Natural, non toxic, charming runner - I love the color and how cheerful it is. It appears as a cream color with some slight variations of the fibers ie grays and light browns that is very subtle. It helps give it an interesting and natural look! The down side is that I know with pets it may be difficult to take care of any potential stain on it. I felt the darker color may be too dark in a hallway so went with the lighter color. For purchasing a jute rug I did not think it would be this soft and cushy! Puppy approved! This is located in a low traffic area where we do not wear shoes and where the dogs can hang out in between room. They seem to love it! I would not put this in a high traffic area as it is soft. With the Karistan/Mohawk 2 sided rug pad the rug easily stays in place. Be sure to cut the pad at least 1 inch in from the end of the binding so the rug lays flat. The price point was very fair considering I have peace of mind knowing we have eliminated potential VOCs that are emitted from most rugs on the market.
Review: Pictures Don't Do This Rug Justice - I absolutely love this rug! It exceeded my expectations in every way. The charcoal gray color is stunning, and it is even more beautiful in person than the pictures can capture. The quality and appearance are exceptional, and it has completely transformed my space. I am beyond satisfied with this purchase. If you're on the fence, go for it. You won't regret it!

## Features

- 90 % Jute 10 % Cotton
- [COLOR & DESIGN]: SAFAVIEH's Natural Fiber rug weaves a texture into undyed bleach jute; its 3/4" pile is firm and substantial; color and pattern contrast may look different in person, and shade can vary depending on lighting and screen settings.
- [WOVEN JUTE BLEND]: Hand-woven from jute at a 3/4" pile, a dense plant fiber that resists crushing and takes high-traffic areas, wearing well in an entryway, hallway, home office or foyer.
- [EASY CARE]: Shake out or sweep with a soft broom, and blot spills immediately with a dry cloth; jute should never be vacuumed or wet-cleaned.
- [WHAT TO EXPECT]: Jute sheds a little at first and settles on its own. Trim loose fiber flush with scissors rather than pulling it, which draws the weave. Tone shifts between batches because the fiber is undyed. A SAFAVIEH rug pad is recommended.
- [TRUSTED BRAND]: For over a century, SAFAVIEH has been synonymous with exceptional quality and timeless design, a legacy carried through four generations. From New York, we offer rugs, furniture, lighting, and decor to help you design a space you love.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I get my rug edges to lie flat?**
A: Rugs are rolled or folded for safe transit, so creases and curled edges are to be expected. Lay the rug flat, or reverse-roll and the marks will release within a few days.

**Q: Why does my rug look different than the photo?**
A: Because the fibers lie in one direction, the rug appears lighter from one end and darker from the other, with the tone shifting as you move around it. Room lighting and screen settings can also affect how the color reads.

**Q: Why does my rug shed?**
A: A little shedding is normal on a new rug, and it subsides within a few days as the loose fibers work their way out.We suggest vacuuming regularly without a beater bar to help it along.

**Q: Why does my rug smell?**
A: A light scent is normal after a rug has been rolled and wrapped for shipping. Let air circulate through the room and it will fade within a few days.

**Q: How do I clean my rug?**
A: Vacuum regularly in the direction of the pile, not against it, and skip the beater bar. Blot spills rather than rubbing them. Natural fiber rugs should be shaken out to release dirt and debris, avoid wet cleaning.

### ⭐ They YELLOW
*by S***D on July 2, 2024*

I love the way it looks and feels, but within a month it yellowed. i had ordered 2 and the one that was in the sun yellowed quicker but the one in indirect light yellowed slower. Photos are of one rug only for consistency in pictures. you can see its splotchy and in one photo you can see when i bend the rug what the original color that didn't see daylight was. Even the back of the rug shows the original color. Super bummed. Don't buy unless you want a splotchy yellow color. FYI this was used for staging an unoccupied home that was listed. It was a vacation/2nd home so it was shown by appointment only and they were not in a place that got any wear and tear.
