I'm 5-foot-4, 230 pounds, and normally wear a 2X top (sometimes a 1X depending on the cut and fabric). I found this to be the correct size for me; loose enough to feel modest but tight enough not to float up while swimming. I wore it with a bikini top and swim shorts (to avoid "chub rub" while walking through the park). I was hesitant to try a swim top with shorts because I didn't want to look like I was covering up in a ridiculous amount of clothes due to body shame, but I didn't feel that way at all; I actually felt like I was dressed pretty sporty! And about half the other people in the park were also wearing swim shirts.This dries quickly, which was good since the air was so humid in Mexico.So glad I bought this.
