I tried to logon to 192.168 stuff, nothing works.after a hour, power and ppp led went off, other leds solid green.after an hour, power(red) and ppp(gteen) led were rapid blinking, other led solid green.after searching internet, I read netcomm NB6 has similar issue.( [...])i opened mine(two screws under the resting sponge, you may have 4, and plastic latch at two places or so)To my surprice the internal looks same as netcomm NB6 Ver1, just the plastic case is different from netcomm NB6.As per the netcom DIY, the two capacitor near power socket was swollen in my modem, so bought a 1000MF 35V(25V wasn't there in my radioshack) and I cut the plastic case to accommodate the big size of the capacitors.put screws and powered it on and it worked as normal.Tips :1)cost cutting and size reduction has made them to choose bad choice for power capacitors,you can buy two cap of same size (1000MF, 25V, radial) and so you do not need to modify the casing.2)cost cutting has made them to choose to only use two screws, though there are four holes and places toput four screws.3)Netcomm NB6 and this one (cl110) are exactly same inside, just the plastic case is different,so i now think that many such 15-30$ modem has same board inside.4)I do not want to give any star rating, because my perspective may be different from yours,I give 4 as per my perspective, because i was angry for couple of hours that it failed close to 1 year.and once i fixed it, its normal, so happy and 4 star, to be noted that its not an expensive modem.but if you cannot do this job yourself, then star will be different for you. ### ⭐⭐ Siemens CL-110 DSL Modem/Router *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on October 27, 2011* The CL-110 is a DSL modem/router and I am using it in Madison, Wisconsin through AT&T. I bought the Siemens CL-110 to replace a Siemens Speed Stream 4100 thinking it would be a simple replace and turn on procedure. While it wasn't quite that simple, there is a wizard that helps you set this modem/router up. Unlike the 4100, this is a modem/router and not just a modem, which means that a simple internet switch can be connected to supply wired ethernet connections to multiple computers. I use the D-Link DGS-1008G.The CL-110 seems to have a more restrictive hardware firewall than I previously had as I did have problems getting my MagicJack phone to work correctly with the new more security conscious CL-110. Incoming phone calls would be sent to voice mail instead of ringing through. MagicJack technical support were pretty unaware of what to do, but a search of the web brought me to portforward.com and a procedure to assign a static IP Address and open port 5060 and port 5070. MagicJack now works perfectly. Of course if you don't have MagicJack this is totally unimportant to you, though it could be relevant for on-line gaming(?).The CL-110 does seem to run hot which apparently isn't that unusual for DSL modems. Related to this issue though is my uncomfortable inability to find any warranty information at all on the web, or in the box. In any case, while I am definitely not a computer expert, the price is low and this unit seems to be currently working really well.Addendum: My CL-110 has died 9 months after hooking it up. This is, therefore, not a model that I can recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I forget that I own this product. Setup was simple enough and I could essentially forget about it once it was up and running. I have not had to mess about with it since I connected it.The bad: I have no complaints about this product. None.The ugly:Overall: Needing a new DSL modem is not an everyday thing, but if you do find yourself needing a new one, get this.Notes: This is a DSL modem. This is only a DSL modem. There is only a single port on the back (you can plug a router in here) so it will not function as a router and it will not give you wifi.
