It is reminiscent of saran wrap, but a bit thicker. When closed these two sheets actually touch each other. If the plastic sheets were hard, you might have enough room for a sheet of paper. Because they flex, they can hold the coins. I plan to re-purpose this holder to holder some sd cards.

The fours coins look great and each coin comes in a separate hard plastic coin holder. There is a larger holder that can accommodate all four coins in there plastic shells. This larger holder is not top shelf, but I think some of my fellow reviewers are a bit harsh. It folds open, it like two frames hinged together. Each frame has a sheet of thin flexible plastic. It is reminiscent of saran wrap, but a bit thicker. When closed these two sheets actually touch each other. If the plastic sheets were hard, you might have enough room for a sheet of paper. Because they flex, they can hold the coins. I plan to re-purpose this holder to holder some sd cards.
