I am using the BTF-Lighting 5VDC 20A power supply which does not maintain 5VDC under the load of a 5m LED strip. When voltage drops to 4VDC this controller will not respond. (This is likely not be a concern when using 12VDC LED strips.) I was able to work around the low voltage issue by powering the controller from a separate power source -- I happened to have a 6VDC power supply with correct polarity on the barrel connector. I disconnected the red LED strip wire from the controller VCC and connected the spare power leads from the same end of the strip to the power supply (white & green to the controller, white and red to the power supply). Using this controller with a SK6812 RGBW (natural white) LED strip, I am able to select any static color for the entire strip, including RGB white and natural white. You will have to do some digging online and watch a few DIY videos if you are not familiar with this type product and are just beginning to dive in. I purchased this for a solar address light I rebuilt with a three-wire cob strip. In order to find the right configuration you will have to basically match the wires coming from your LED strip to the out ports on the controller. One thing that isn’t clear is that once you download and start your controller’s app, once connected to the device you will need to go into the app setup and select the correct type strip light from the built-in scroll menu. After tinkering with it I figured it out, works great but will have to return to update on durability, connectivity, and overall functionality over time as it is yet to be verified through use, and normal product wear.
